    Focal Solo6 or Twin6?

There will always other (potentially better) options. If one set of speakers blows me away in person, and another set of speakers I’m aware of might be better and some people say they are, I’m picking the ones I’ve heard and loved every time.

They’re great for the price and footprint. They have a better angle than most “trap” speakers that double as wedges, too. I have 4 of them that I use as monitors for my PA rig. Pretty slick — I can daisy chain them all with Ultranet (CAT5 cable) and still get separate mixes on each one from the...

    Axe3 user Borrowing FM3 for a fly rehearsal Q's

Y-cables are fine for splitting, but not made for summing/combining outputs. Yep, if you’re going from stereo to mono, just pick a side (L or R) and use it to feed your backline amp and IEMs. If you have really wide stereo patches with hard-panned amps, ping-pong delays, expanders, etc. you’ll want to reconfigure those patches anyway, to make sure they sound good in...

Any recommendations for mic preamp (vocals into FM9)?

I’d strongly recommend getting a real preamp. Using an adapter or cable (even the Shure impedance adapter) directly into the FM9 and is not unlike plugging your guitar straight into the FX return of an amp, bypassing the preamp! Will it make it loud enough? Sure… but if you’re after quality...

  33. getlostinsound

Footswitches. Use 5150 amp channel switch on FM3?

I believe the main drawback to using a latching foot switch is that when you load a preset, it doesn’t read the current state of the footswitch. This means, depending on whether the switch is open or closed, you may have to hit the switch twice the first time you use it after loading a preset.
