Nevermind! I answered my own question. Just bought it and played with all the mesa amps. Best cabs I've ever owned.

Wish Tech 21 SansAmp Bass Driver DI

If you already own a Tech 21, how does it sound through the Axe FX 2? Pretty solid results? What if you're using the Axe as an interface through USB? I've always wanted a sansamp T21 but I've settled for a plugin that was free. I was thinking about getting the real deal if it's worth it.

Axe-Fx II thinks it's clipping but I don't hear it

Interesting. Ok. So let's say I print the song so I can master it. I'd normalize the song first then use the limiter? Or just use normalizing instead of limiting? So far I'm ok with just limiting with the way I have the mix now cause it's way better than what I had. But I just wanna know if...

Axe-Fx II thinks it's clipping but I don't hear it

Ah yes. I remember. A tragic victim of the loudness war. Haha By "normalize" do you mean "limit"? Cause the reason I'm hitting 0db like that is cause of the FG-X limiter I put on the master. Is normalizing different? Actually, I found that my drums were peaking pretty bad so I dropped them by...

Axe-Fx II thinks it's clipping but I don't hear it

Hmm ok. So to be clear, so long as I don't see my meters in the red there's no chance my tracks are clipping, right? Tracks don't clip before they hit the red ever, correct? Reason I'm asking is cause I submitted a track to OCRemix.org (a video game music remix website) and the judges rejected...

I know. But it's not tickling the red on the meter. The OUT 1 CLIP light is lighting up.

Axe-Fx II thinks it's clipping but I don't hear it

I could use a second pair of ears here. I'm using the Axe FX II as an interface with Pro Tools. The clip linked here has a mix I'm really happy with so far but I just realized that the clip light on the Axe FX II is lighting up but I don't hear it in the mix and none of the meters in the session...

    Losing something with mono recording?

I see. So it wouldn't make a difference if I recorded 2 stereo tracks per side instead of 2 mono tracks?

    Losing something with mono recording?

So I've dug around on the forums and read the wiki on this matter and here's what's up. I'm recording into Pro Tools via USB interface. Amp block is Sum L+R. I typically record one mono guitar track left and one right which of course is the norm. I've reamped countless times because I would...

    Possible limiter/ceiling problem

Testing out a new mix for an upcoming project. I feel like I'm close to what I want here. Drums are great. Guitar is aggressive and roaring. Inputs: Sum L+R vs. Stereo

Input on the cabs. My input in my IO is already set to Left. But on the cabs it has the option to select an input as well. I have 2 cab blocks each with an Ownhammer IR with no panning. I was wondering if I should set the input on them to Sum L+R or stereo or I guess left only?

Bass recording. Cab IR or straight DI?

Thanks for the help guys. So apparently, it's my computer speakers. I just put on another song From Clutch, "The Regulator" and on the bass's higher notes it happens there too. So I think my bass compression skills might not be that bad after all. Hahaha
  42. M

Bass recording. Cab IR or straight DI?

I need a good Frequency analyzer for this. Can anyone recommend one? Ill pay for one that's as accurate as possible. And not that blueCat one. It's framerate stutters and it makes it hard for me to get an accurate reading.
  43. M

Bass recording. Cab IR or straight DI?

This seems to be the hardest thing for me to do. Cuase it feels like no matter how I record or compress/EQ the bass I still get wolftones popping out at me. And I don't hear them in my BX5a monitors or my car speakers so much. It's my computer speakers. But I compare them to songs that hit...

Bass recording. Cab IR or straight DI?

Let's say you're recording in Pro Tools and recording a bass track via USB straight from the Axe FX 2. Would you typically throw a CAB block in or do you go without one? Can't seem to mix it right

On my master track all I have that's being used is a Slate Digital FG-X virtual Mastering Console. It has a comp and limiter all in one. I tried using an EQ and my C6 multiband comp but I don't know how to use either on the master track. And the C6 I get the concept but I'm not very good with it.

Can't seem to mix it right

By master bus, do you mean master track? Also, I'm plugging in directly to the Axe-FX II so there's no room to build up with. EDIT: as for the guitar tone, it's a bit pointy. I'm aiming for a sound more like the guy's in the DiMarzio video. I've never had a guitar sound like that in my life.

I record the reamp through inputs 3 or 4 to record the default guitar sound. It does look like what you describe. One thing that I just thought of.
