New Fractal product coming!!

I believe the market has expanded, at least some.

But honestly, it probably is something else.

Also, my badgering on about the effects-only unit is no reflection at all on the incredible achievements FAS have accomplished in the amp modeling world, and how great the Dynacabs are (and also still with the many excellent standard IRs).

Personally, the amp+cab stomp box option's appeal is that I love my pedalboard already and would love to simply incorporate Fractal's amp modeling in there without the size of an FM3. That lets you play silently with headphones (assuming a headphone jack is in the unit or you already have another headphone solution like an audio interface), run through an FRFR, or turn off the cab/power amp modeling and plug into the FX Return of an amp to get the preamp modeling.

Something the size of an HX Stomp or smaller would be an immediate purchase for me. I really like Fractal's effects, but the main draw of the FM3 for my rig was the amp modeling.
Agreed. Though, when this "debate" about whatever new thing Fractal might release started, I didn't think it would be a small limited feature pedal, I still think the idea is bang on.

I've owned and loved the Iridium. I've been using Fractal's since 2011 I think starting with the Ultra. I have 2 AFX3s now, so I'm a certified Fractal weenie. AND I love the UAFX amp pedals. I think the UAFX amp mobile-only software sucks (I'm fine with the OX Stomp and delay/verb pedals' apps). I don't need "deep" editing capability for the UAFX amps. But their amp apps are so simplified they're barely useful.

Still, UAFX pedals dominate the high-quality modeling pedal space. Iridium is great, but it's 4 years old now. UFAX amp pedals are just next level. But Universal Audio is not "better" at modeling than Fractal. And people love new shiny stuff! So... a Fractal "Pepsi" to UA's "Coke" could sell like hotcakes (ha!).

Yeah, but are there enough to justify a new FX only unit? I'm not so sure about that.
Yes. Absolutely. Have you noticed how popular preamps or "amp modelling only" units are becoming? It's what is in vogue right now. You have the Friedman preamp pedals, the Synergy stuff, the Tonex stuff, Iridium, UA, Kemper Player, etc etc. (Not to mention the fans of vintage rackmount preamps.) There's a huge market for FX only units. And if that unit was 1u rackmount and made controllable via Fractal FC-6/12, well there ya go. Another reason people will buy those controllers ;)

Not sure, most ToneX users I know are professional guitar players who love to build pedalboards with the best pedals for their needs. MultiFX are often considered as lower in quality and less straightforward.
The digitalization of amp/power amp/cabs made a huge space for pedalboards. Some guitar player won’t go from big rigs to one unit stuff as easily. I’m surprised to see that most rig rundown are showing pedals today.
I love the Axefx III because it can do a lot in a small package.
My bet is a amp-dynacab pedal. Pretty all multiFX can do the AX8 thing. And that would compete with Helix line which is hard to beat imo (ToneX-Helix is very common)

I know it probably isn’t happening but imagine if you will a product that would allow an FM to function with another FM or FX and FC. All capable of interacting with each other. And a master editor capable of showing all.

Where (to which forum) does one need to be registered / subscribed to get a notification when they post the waitlist link?
Announcements about products are often in the "News and Announcements" sub-forum (https://forum.fractalaudio.com/forums/news.59/). Probably the easiest way to spot release news is here - https://forum.fractalaudio.com/whats-new/

This is a feed of new posts throughout the forum. Once the news drops from Fractal, there are sure to be many posts posted in a short period. You can see posts about the news being dropped in the "What's New" feed.

Holy shit I was reading the firmware code and I found the new product!!!

It's a jet ski with a sidecar waffle maker plus it's all AI powered. It also uses the AI to capture dumb ideas!

It's gonna be "FaaS": Fractal as a Service, for people who can't or won't buy a HW unit... like cloud gaming. You stream your guitar into the "CliffCloud" with his cybernetic minions working in control centers all around the world, monitoring/tweaking all FAS users' settings in real-time and returning it within 5-10 ms - guaranteed!*

All while Cliff's sitting in a stylish HQ, stroking a white cat with his bionic metal hand.

*Provided you meet the min specs regarding your internet connection... but surely, those who save money on HW by using FaaS can then spend it on fiber or satellite uplinks.
