After building a couple of similar boxes for friends, I decided to try a new approach to improve ventilation and offer a little more space for cable management. This updated version is working great for me so far, and actually ended up a few oz lighter than the original.

I thought of building something like this for my FM3/wireless in-ears. Great job on it. For me the factor not to do this was switching the FM3. I do not have a FC-6, so I thought having the FM3 at that height may be a problem. FWIW, I'm still new to the FM3, so it may have been a non-issue. I will be going more horizontal with a Duo-24. Yours looks great and I still may look at something like that in the future, really good job by you on the build.
 
Measure twice, cut once, right? Somehow I thought the Duo 24 would have room for my wireless in-ears. Probably will have to stay in the rack now. Just seems too tight of a fit. Maybe if I trade out the Moog EP-3 for a Fractal EV-2, it could help clear out enough room to make it feasible. IMG_20201114_135050.jpg

Totally! Your rig looks great btw!

My plan has always been to stash the FM3 upstage and only use the FC6 during shows. It's definitely too high of a platform for me to use the FM3 underfoot, plus I'd have to really beef up the supports to take the added weight.
 
This is very much a work in progress while I figure out exactly how I want to use the FM3, but this 5 button setup feels promising. I would've preferred a bit more to be sure, but this requires no aux power and just a simple flat board underneath ought to do just fine.
 
I am reusing the pedalboard from my AX-8 and so far it's working fine, albeit with a little less wood than before :) The AX8 and its expression pedal were attached to the board with screws but this time around I opted for dual lock and Velcro.

I need to sort out power for the Freqout but with the courtesy AC outlet on the panel, I can tap off of that or just "convert" it. I am still play around with running the Freqout inline or in an effects loop. I have lots of clearance between pedals but it feels good and I have the space so why not.

My 2 button switch toggles views (not tap/hold) in layout 7 (between view 1 (6 presets) and view 2 (6 scenes)) and the tuner. Not sure about tap tempo right now but I could put it in the tuner tap button and make tuner hold.

I decided to cut a hole for the FM-3's vent to err on the side of caution. As you can see in the last pic, one layer of dual lock leaves some clearance by itself. It was easy lining up the hole and the vents. I used a 1.5" hole saw on a hand drill. As you can see in the pics, the undercarriage intake is good to go.

I try purchasing that dual switch from OCD I cannot since I am in the US
 
I cut my bumblebee after I realized I can totally everything I need with just the 3 switches

Hello all, I have had my FM3 for a few months now and it has been quite the learning experience. I have been playing for 40 years and have been a DIE HARD TUBE ONLY guy in local hard rock bands. I was VERY skeptical about modelers but after hauling all the heavy gear for years I thought I would try this setup. I now play in a church band so this setup is amazing!! I have used it a few times now and I am VERY happy.
