Software FracPad III - iOS/Android/Mac/Win Editor for the Axe-Fx II/XL/XL+, AX8/FX8, Axe-Fx III and FM3/FM9

Third party software for Fractal Audio products.
Just bought app but cannot connect to iPad or iPhone. Lightning to USB adapter and from this to USB on AX8. I don't know where is a problem.
Does your ax8 appear in FracPad device list?
Is your lightning usb adapter an official apple one?

Working for me on both iPhone 7 Plus & iPad mini (new one) with Yamaha MD BT01. :)

Had a little trouble at first getting the parameters of the blocks to load, but deleting and reinstalling the FracPad app solved it.

I have one question- how do you name presets created in FracPad? I made a patch but could not figure out hot to name it.

Please don't give up on the wireless midi component, Al. This is the entire reason I invested in the app- if I wanted to be tethered I could just have kept using Axe Edit with my laptop. I'm sure a lot of other people here feel the same, it's what really differentiates your product from the FAS app.

If the MD-bt01 looses midi bytes like the UD-BT01 does, i won't support Bluetooth unless a valid bt interface is tested... Yamaha sells interfaces not doing the job they're supposed to, i won't be able to fix that for them...

And you'll see in next releases there's a lot that differentiate from ae ;)

Like I said, MD BT01 working well here.

Well, the only thing that really matters for me at this point is wireless. Worse case scenario is I stay on 1.0 if you kill Bluetooth support. It would be disappointing but c'est la vie, I guess I jumped in too soon.

Any detailed instructions on how to name presets?

If you mean presets wuth empty names it's a 1.0 known bug, already fixed in upcoming 1.01 ;)
Bt support can't be killed, but i may nit officially support it, so it would be " a use at your own risk" policy, if there's bugs i'm not covering them...
Anyway i'll receive the MD-bt01 soon and see if everything works ;)

I meant creating a preset from scratch inside FracPad- you can't name it. Can save it, just can't name it from within the app.

Awesome on the BT support. It works right on here so I'm a happy camper. :)

One suggestion for those having any issues with the Yam MD BT01- be sure to download the Yamaha MD BT01 Utility app and do the firmware up grade (from 1.0 to 1.01). I did it after reading about it on several sites, and like I said it's working great here.

Working here too, I love it.
I name preset just touching the box beside the the + where the name shows up and write it there, then hit save. This doesn´t work for you?EDIT: Sorry, abit late :)

Al please don´t kill the bluetooth, people should use right version of the Yamaha unit first!
If it goes tricky, maybe the connection can be there but not officially supported? Then who wants to mess around can do it, like I do :)
But I´m 99% sure that you will accept the MD model...but can´t know if there is something so different that turns everything upside down with the update ;)

Al, now when I have had good results with wireless switching and tweaking I have been thinking about bluetooth foot controller.
Is it possible to connect bluetooth foot controller into FracPad and then connect FracPad into Axe Fx with bluetooth also?
Maybe that midimitrr would link them all, or so... any bluetooth specialists here?

Positive Grid makes solid looking BT pedals: https://www.positivegrid.com/bt4/
And then there is that IK multimedia, not so solid one: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/irigblueboard/

With those you could get very light rig and also great for home playing when you don´t have so much room for the pedalboard.
Like mine that is one piece plate with Rocktron All Access, 2 EB exp pedals and wah... Not so much sitting next to it :)

This guy says that Positive Grid can do almost everything with midi:
