Axe-Fx II "Quantum" Rev 1.00 Public Beta

So today I updated to Quantum. Freaking amazing. I'm using an XL and wanted to put the new cabs from 16 in my inventory. When I open up manage cabs, it shows no user cabs installed. But when I go to change a cab in the cab block, it has 397 of my user cabs listed as factory cabs lol. And when I drag and drop my new cabs in manage cabs, it over writes my user cabs. So I had to use fractal bot to import a few cabs. Def ready for official release and new axe edit.

I saved all my presets and am thinking of updating just for fun. I have a question. The last time Cliff released updated banks of presets (not sure about cabs), it was during 18.03. I am thinking of, when updating to quantum, starting from scratch with the presets just for fun. Does anyone know if any banks of presets have been released since, that I would want to load with the new firmware? Secondly, are new factory cabs loaded automatically when doing each firmware update?

Thanks in advance!

Don't remember where… but within the last coupla days, Cliff indicated that he was planning to update the presets, at some point. However, he said that he didn't really think it was necessary...

1. Because the computer Operating System, USB cable, global settings, how the Fractal is patched into the audio interface etc. are all different.

2. Because starting with an existing preset means there is more chance for varying results. If everyone started with a reset preset and used the same factory cab and the same set of headphones plugged into the front panel, the variations would be less. There would be variations of course because the real magic that everyone is chasing is in the person playing the guitar not in the Fractal.
The USB cable used shouldn't make any difference, unless the cable is faulty. Pretty sure the operating system shouldn't make a difference either.

It isn't. Half the presets are pretty much the same. All you have to do to test new amps is swap them into any of those presets and change a cab to take it out for a test drive before you get into serious preset building. The Block B and C stuff is esoteric showcasing of the potential of the effects blocks. Really nothing to change there.

I have a bunch of gigs coming next week, is Quantum pub beta safe and does axe edit work well with it?
Will there be a Regular release soon ?

I would keep the presets you have, and just make some new ones to add on to what you've already made. Its not fun for me to spend hours making presets when you could be Jamming or recording music.you can get stuck in tweaking quicksand and spend days or weeks tweaking, then again you might like to do that. I worked too long and hard making the presets I have to can them and start over. Keep own Rockin!

It works fine for me except the fact that it refuses to load user cabs here. I can only use factory cabs. I've tried everything including Fractal Bot.

Installed Q1beta today (FRFR with factory cabs).

Cleans definitely have improved as have slighly crunchier tones.

HBE lost its fullness and sounds dull and flat.

Didn't have time to explore further amps though.

Getting in late on this one, had gigs to knock out so I have a week until the next money to be earned with the Axe FX... that = play time! Downloaded, time to go dig the road case out of the trailer.

I had to laugh at how much hubbub there was about the name. Never cease to be amazed at how microscopically folks can look the proverbial "gift horse" in the mouth. Thanks for another leap, Fractal. You guys rock.

I know everything is subjective and personal preference, but I'm liking what Quantum does for the friedmans! Seems to have taken away some tubbyness.
