    Output level for FRFR speaker

    Thanks, I'll give it a try! I was worried it would catch on fire if it wasn't meant for it. It does have a clip meter on it, I'll try +4 and watch it. A super noobie question: Does a compressor-limiter on the FRFR prevent it from blowing the speaker if I turn up the input too loud? Edit: It...

    FM9 Firmware Version 5.01

    Are you switching channels on a single amp block? Use two amp blocks in parallel and mute the one you don't need (i.e. mute the gain amp on the clean scene and vice versa). Make sure to set bypass mode to Mute Out. Also, FWIW: The audio gap when switching channels is likely to be fixed in the...

    FM9 Firmware Version 5.01

    It depends on what your needs are, but for my main preset, I use one amp, and then change the gain amount (to go from cleanish to higher gain) using scene controllers. I stay on the same amp block channel, and the gain knob just moves up/down between scenes as needed. I use a control switch to...

    Fender FR-12 compared to PXM-12. My experience so far.

    I'm probably wrong about this, but I kinda think they might have also gone too far that way - if there's a complaint about them, it's that they're too thump-y/bass-y, which is a problem the Fender FRs don't seem to have. It seems like each generation of these things gets better by refining the...

    Fender FR-12 compared to PXM-12. My experience so far.

    ...CLR's to come out on top. The Fenders are a different design/modality...I think that's why i've glommed on to them. A lot of it of it for me is the 'feel' of that lower resonance /thump. More similar to the Friedman ASM's and offerings of that design. Friedmans are nice but also way more scratch.

    Best Powered PA Speaker System for the FM3?

    What is your price range? You are going to get lots of responses favoring the EV PXM-12MP, Friedman ASC or ASM, XiTone, Atomic, and more. So it is all subjective to the player. Some members will suggest using regular cabs and a powered amp. Check out the amps and cabs (General Topics) section...

    Studio Speakers or FRFR?

    I had a Friedman ASM-12 (the wedge) for a while and I'm not surprised by your findings. I could make it sound good, maybe even great, when I dialled in say a Friedman BE preset into a Greenback IR and out to the ASM-12 and played loud. To me, the first thing you have to do if things doesn't...

    Ya that seems to be the majority of opinions on the Friedman. It seems like they really only excel in a live setting when you need to be loud and want the whole amp-behind-you feeling.

    Just bought some EV PXM - 12MP’s

    +1 I had 2 ASM 12´s and EV´s are just better in pretty much every department. much easier to carry, lighter by half at least, much more durable finish, sounds punchier, more articulate, louder, and in my case also cheaper than friedmans. no brainer IMO.

    Leon's FM9 Basic setup and preset ideas

    ...and the Slo which sounded amazing recorded thru your DAW but nothing like that loaded into my rig and played at live band volume with Friedman Asm's FRFr's. Very shrill top end and thin. I use a Les Paul and Anderson guitars. 120% appreciate you sharing stuff, just curious if the same...

    FRFR recommendation for Axe-Fx III (not the Atomic CLR)

    I agree about the Friedmans. I really like both ASM and ASCs. If you want that real cabinet type sound.....they are hard to beat.

    FRFR recommendation for Axe-Fx III (not the Atomic CLR)

    I have a Friedman ASC-10 and it responds like a guitar cabinet—I forget I am using a modeler. As others have posted, the ASC-12 (or ASM-12 wedge) is boomy. On another note, the ASM-12 is HEAVY and awkward to carry, move, place, etc. I owned the ASM-12 for about a week. I like the Friedman...

    from Friedman BE100 Deluxe to Axe FX III?

    I use a Friedman ASM-12 FRFR or headphones. Another thing to remember - with the Axe you’re getting tones through a microphone. It’s a different vibe than a straight head to cab in a room. For me personally, that was the sound I was always chasing, so it’s a win; if you want the ‘amp in the...

    FM3 --> Powercab?

    Honestly, I was never a huge fan of the speaker emulations in the PowerCab. Maybe it’s just me because lots of people love them, so it came down to its FRFR performance. I actually prefer the L6 StageSource speakers to the PowerCab in that regard.

    FM3 --> Powercab?

    ...performance. Personally I'm most interested in the Powercab for its speaker emulation. Other than my studio monitors, I've only tried a Friedman ASM-12 and wasn't terribly impressed...and in general I'm not too fond of playing guitar through monitors. On paper, the Powercab looks like it...

    New FM3 and I’m unhappy somehow...

    They’ve been out of stock in the Uk so long I assumed they weren’t making them anymore. I emailed Friedman to check and just got a short email back that they’re back ordered, no time frames though
