Isn't he throwing it the wrong direction? I always thought those guitar whips were body first to eliminate this exact scenario. Throwing in that direction puts the pressure on the back strap button such that it pulls straight out.

I love how he stays super calm though. "Ah crap. Grab a new guitar and finish the set."
