What is your guitar whim right now?

Forget what you wished yesterday, or what you think will be more convenient tomorrow. We all know GAS changes directions like the wind.

What would you like to grab right now?

Few minutes ago this red porn popped into my Facebook feed and I thought "Yummy, yummy! I want to lick that!" :p
Umeda Guitas.jpg

But the whim vanished when I followed the link and realized that the price of that Umeda UST-1-aldernico1 is only $220 🧐

Then I started browsing that store, and I found this Bachus Handmade Series that really grabbed my attention. This is my whim right now!

I suppose right now a Tele. I’ve always figured I’d grab a ‘52 AVRI Tele, but man, Andy Wood’s Suhr sig is SWEET. Chances are I’ll just do a partscaster with MJT/Musikraft though and keep it fairly true to the original Tele thing. Andy’s is more of a super Tele.

@Piing the Bacchus stuff is impressive. I toured the factory that makes them web I went to Japan and there's a lot of old school craftsmanship going on there.

Since you say super Tele I assume you mean his HH config one vs the traditional one? I have two of his sig HHs (War Black and Whiskey Barrel) right now! I ordered the WB one new from Suhr back in April since lately they rarely come up for sale used or new and while I waited the War Black one popped up used at a decent price so I grabbed it! Literally 2 days later I get an email saying my Whiskey Barrel one is on it's way! I didn't want to lose my deposit or be that guy and cancel so I kept it. And now I'm that guy with two of the same guitar! It's my every day, do everything guitar! It's one of those guitars that is just so comfortable to play and inspiring. I take it to work with me - can't leave home without it!IMG_3950.jpg

I happened to walk into a boutique guitar show at ChicagoMusic Exchange on Saturday… gas was ignited

Exactly! That’s definitely not a bad problem to have!!

The last year I started buying guitars that are fairly specific to certain tones/genres; ie- Strats for classic Strat tones, a Solar E-type for metal, a PRS for the in-between/semi-hollow stuff, etc. I’ve found if I get a guitar that caters to many things, they don’t really hit THE spots I want them to hit. Perfect example is the PRS; even in split-coil mode, it sounds great, but in comparison to an actual Strat it sounds so bland and weak. I feel if I were to get an HH Tele, I’d spend more time making heavier music rather than the clean/country thing Tele’s are known for.

Obviously, Andy has no problem getting whatever tones he needs to from them, I just know how I work at this point. :tearsofjoy:

That and I have a big soft spot for old, beat up Fenders.

What’s the radius on those necks? It looks fairly flat
