The Pets Thread

"Cats don't have friends or pet-parents. They have subjects." LOL

We had another cat around the time we had the Maine Coon. A little female American Grey Tabby named Chauncey. She was supposed to be the wife's, but she ended up bonding with me for some odd reason. When I'd lay down on the couch for a nap I'd wake up with this damn cat laying on my chest, staring and purring and being generally sweet. I might have had a low level emotional attachment to her. MAYBE! LOL

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. =)

We had to rehome her when we adopted a 2 year old male Malamute with an extraordinarily high prey drive. He literally HUNTED her to the point we had to keep her locked up in a separate room. That was unfair to her, so we found her a good home with a lady I worked with at the time. From what I was told, she bonded with her husband. HEH!

I still don't like cats. 🤘🤣🤘

Here's my girl Mango. We rescued her from South Korea in March. I won't go into the details, but she had a very difficult life prior to making her way to Las Vegas. She's the sweetest pup I've ever met, afraid of pretty much everything, but just so loving. I kid you not, she uses my FM9 as a pillow some days, not sure how that could be comfy 😂

Beautiful dogs! I'll take the Nord!

Wish my old girl Pinkie pictured earlier could be resurrected like this thread. Lost her in January.:cry::cry:

Meet my new girl, Libby. Got her in March and she turned two a week ago.

And a funny coincidence. One picture is Pinkie in 2006 and the other is Libby in 2022. Two different dogs, two different cities, two different cases.........

We had beagles. Great dogs!

Dogs are better people than people are.

The issue with that is it still takes people to have pets. As someone living in a
neighbourhood I am surrounded by poorly trained animals who have shitty humans
as their guides in life.

I don't like absolutes, because they crumble in the face of reality. Not all pets are better
than all people. I was bit multiple times as a child. Had a paper route as a kid where I had
to outrun numerous dogs that put the fear of God in me daily.

I love animals, but some are pure hell because of their owners.

My rescue pittie the day we found her and her sister/daughter a few years ago. They weren't in great shape.

And a couple weeks ago....all she does now is cuddle.

They've got homes (including the surviving puppies, they were both pregnant) and very happy lives now.
