Yeah I'm sure yours sounds pretty dead on. I haven't tried it yet, but I know the quality of the stuff you put out there. It was kinda fun tweaking mine around though. It's a tone I'd have never touched in a million years, so it was fun to tweak around with it.
I agree, it is a fun tone to tweak and to mess around with.
I like how it completely sags when hitting the low e and then slowly recovers, pretty cool for soundgarden/smashing pumpkins type single note riffs.
That was one part I was having problems with. It was sagging worse than an old lady's bingo wings. I had to cut the bass until it became more manageable. I also only had the master on the first amp block to 10. I had the second set to 5. I was having trouble getting the top end to come out like in the original song as well. I think I got it fairly close, but without the right guitar to play the part, I'd never be able to tell. I did notice that if I halved the volume knob on the guitar it was sounding a lot better than with it full up. It still had the saturation but it got rid of some of the sag and made the notes more distinct. When I bring my rack back in here I'll post my patch, more just for reference than anything else. Maybe some of the real guitarists here can tell me how close I got.
Ok here's what I came up with. The problem I think after listening to the song over and over again is that the tube pre amp sim isn't open and bright enough by default and doesn't allow through the dynamics they have in the song with the level of saturation required. I'm not sure how to deal with that part.
Anyway, here's what I came up with. Maybe someone will find it useful for something if not Revolution. Again, I don't have a guitar with the right type of pickups, so I'm sure it would sound way different if I was playing it on a Casino or something similar. Hard to tweak a patch for a particular sound when you don't have the right instrument.
I would suggest trying this one two ways. Bridge with guitar volume maxed and bridge with the volume up just slightly.
Sorry in advance for the newbie question...
I am using the Axe-FX II. I tried to load this preset but nothing comes up. I understand that it's not a preset designed for the Axe-FX II, but for the Ultra and I assume that's why it loads as a blank. Is there a way to convert the preset to work on the Axe-FX II?
