Thinking about it, does that mean that we can expect a new firmware release to the "already hardware supplied" public in the near future?

Maybe there's something with the new editor that needs a firmware update? Otherwise why so many updates in less than 2 weeks?

Yes, the version 7.08 is needed for the editor. Probably with the editor comes another firmware upgrade.
