Just for the curious, with regards to memory usage/processing, wouldn’t multiple 8 second delay lines with the hold/stack feature engaged also utilise plenty of memory?

There's so much to unpack here.


Firstly, embarking on an endoscopic procedure on an Italian girlfriend is normally a pleasant prospect. I don't see the problem.

Secondly, actually kicking the arse is not typically part of an endoscopic procedure. But tastes vary. (On second thought, a well-placed kick might produce some pretty colors on the endoscope.)

And thirdly, the battery indicator on that vibrator is getting low. Fix that if you want to maintain domestic bliss.

Yes, a couple of 8-second delays will eat up a lot of memory. Meanwhile, Boss loopers have a loop length of between 720 seconds and 10,800 seconds, depending on model. Which is a bit more.

Good point. However, if a looper could be included on the VP4, I think most users would have realistic expectations. Bearing in mind the original DL4 could only loop up to around 12-14 seconds, a looper with a maximum loop time of 20-30 seconds would be more than adequate for my personal user case at any rate…

Yeah, i don't need a looper for long as songs, i mostyl do the Minus the Bear / Tera Melos Sampeling Stuff.
I am still using the orginal DL4s so i am well used to only have this short range of time haha!

The Axe Fx Looper has all the function you would ask for in addition to that, besides i think you cant retrigger the loop right? Also the Eventide h90 has the transpose function so the playback speed will get pitched in selectable intervals which is very cool! I'm sure a 20 sec version can be implemented in the VP4!

I used to think a looper might be good for Fractal to add to the VP4. Now I use my Boss RC5 with a dual footswitch and have the benefit of not needing to use the limited switching of the VP4 to do both. Loopers are cheap to add inline with the VP4 and leave the VP4 for effects only which is really the reason I got one.

Yes I too bought the Aeros Gold Looper when getting the VP4, however I thought the VP4 would be replacing pedals so I could gig with it- but many of my pedals have loopers built in, like volante, and timeline.... so now I gig with them and not the vp4.... hopefully someday I can gig with a vp4.

I looked up the looper you bought as I had never checked one out before. Wow! its an incredible machine and with a great interface that the VP4 could never match as a preset/scene block. All in ones would simplify things but they always comes with compromise. The VP4 is a great all in one for effects and I couple it up with my FM3 and looper on a pedal board.

That's talking about the Axe-FX, which is a much more capable unit than the VP4, so a full-fledged looper isn't very likely.

We're talking about adding the FM3 / FM9 looper to the VP4.

I'm sure I'm almost alone on this; however, I have zero use for the recently added IR features in a multi-FX box like the VP4, but a global looper would be great.

Can I trade IR for a looper?

Even if a looper needs to take 2 slots. still think its worth it - if the hardware allows it. Itis not for all, but for those wanting it? great idea. oh and more than 8 secs
