New Fractal product coming!!

Neither has relays for amp channel switching.

The FM3 doesn't have the advanced analog circuit of the III or FM9 for better 4CM performance.

I kept my FX8 for that reason. No longer supported but definitely not obsolete.
If this is an FX-only thing, please let it not be a 3 footswitch H90 version. Those 11 switches on the FX8 are practically perfect in every way.
Would be great same as fm9 plus amp switching global looper and global boost switch

Not convinced. I know I’m knew to the Fractal world but I still think this will be a smaller FM. Something that will load a few amps and effects about the size of an average pedal and a couple buttons. You’ll pre build your signal chain in the editor and load it to the pedal and run with it no major on the pedals tweaking just the basics. Slide it in a gig bag and run.

Agreed, I'll be surprised if it's not a Fractal equivalent of the HX Stomp or Tonex

With their track record I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.

I think it would be a hit. I don’t think it would be for me. I have an axefx3mk2turbo and don’t mind traveling with it. I personally have a blast sitting in a room jumping around all the options. That said a lot of people who look to the pricing and size who prefer tiny grab an go would be all over this concept. You’ll never win over the budget pedal crowd who love to go for 30$ imports but the in between group going to the new compact tonex and such would give it serious thought.

I've had trouble fully unloading all of my pedals after switching to an AxeFX. Partially because some just have a little personality I'd miss, and probably more so due to some hoarding tendencies. Because of this I've never fully moved away from the "hybrid" rig.

Depending on how it was implemented, a pedalboard-based option that kept the same quality amp modeling and didn't lose DynaCabs could be really tempting for me.

One huge sticking point for ever downgrading is the delay in new features trickling down. I always feel bad for those FM9 and FM3 users who don't get all our new toys right away.

I wonder how we survived the 80s and 90s when we used a Marshall JCM 800. And I mean the luxury version with two channels. 😄🫶

IIRC, in the first few months (maybe more?) of its launch, the FM9 was at par with the Axe FX III and FM3 in terms of firmware updates. In fact I also seem to recall that there was a hot second when the FM3 was ahead of the FM9. There was a longer period of gaps in the middle where Cliff was just belting out update after update for the Axe Fx but they took a while to trickle down because the AF itsef was moving so fast. But with the latest updates, the FM3 and FM9 are currently at par with the Axe Fx.

Long winded way of saying that there are probably as many times when the three units’ firmwares are in sync than when they are not.

I have most of mine in a drawer, for the same reason. Not enough bang for the hassle of selling them, too....

Fortunately I don't have FOMO so if one model has an upgraded feature that mine doesn't I don't sweat it. Frankly I'd be happy as a clam with my Fractal gear if I never upgraded the firmware again.
