New Extreme!

Ok ok.... the Reverb search is started :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:
I have to understand how exactly the 4N differs from the N4...

He is the closest thing to EVH we have and he is an absolute beast. Pornograffitti is one of the greatest guitar albums ever and III sides is brilliant. I have always loved him and the band. Cherone is so good and he's probably got the third best voice in the band!

That said, I agree on the mix and it's really evident during the solo. It's like the bass and drums are gone. But I love the tune and looking forward to the new album

The song is like Midnight Express, Cynical and Hip Today all mixed together in a blender! :). I hear parts of all of them

Lots of people complaining that the solo was out of sync or lacked structure, that’s actually the reason I liked it , it wasn’t quantized and perfectly on beat , it’s was loose and unpredictable
And i agree Nuno is the closest to EVH in terms of that energy
Iirc EVH didn’t know how to count and never used a click he just felt it and went for it
To me this was refreshing

The song really sounds like a Nickelback song in terms of tone and riff and then the solo is very Nuno at heart which goes it back to Extreme roots. I don’t mind the song but I honestly think if it had Nunos signature tone it would have been better.

I don’t know if I hear Nickleback
It a bit more modern but I still hear Nuno in the main riff and verse
When he starts playing the F#
The tone is still very percussive and almost scratchy and then he adds in those fast muted runs for the fills
I just think it sounds like a slightly updated Extreme less dated and a Lil more current
Nuno said Extreme 2.0 in an interview and I agree to me the Saudes was a much bigger departure from his usual tunes

I'm in love with the synth sound in the end of the solo but don't have even a slightest idea how to recreate it

I've seen him do a lot of the procussive playing before, but this was definitely taking it to another level in that solo. He has always been a complete beasts on the guitar.

Overall though, the single itself isn't really something I'd buy. A lot of it just sort of gets lost in the mix of that genre for me. Like if it came up in a Spotify playlist or something, I probably wouldn't be able to identify it until the solo.
