Liquid Foot - FAMC Music Website Notice

I'm resurrecting this old thread because I recognize many of you from the old FAMC forum before the hackers took Jeff out. You might remember me as sculptair@gmail.com. I hope you are all well. I'm surprised that the FAMC website is still up, albeit with more broken links than broken windows in an old abandoned building. What a shame. I still have and use my LF+12+ and it works perfectly. I'd like to update the programming to control a new midi rig, so I installed the MAC+LF+_Editor v6.22 on a new Mac Studio running Sonoma 14.4.1 but it couldn't find my LF+12+. I also installed the SetupLF+Editor_64bit v6.05 on a new Windows 11 computer, but it couldn't find my LF+12+ either. Could anyone please remind me if I'm missing something, or is this software is just to out of date to run on new computers!? I never learned how to program the LF+12+ from its buttons. Take care.
Check out my Wiki page. The link below will bring you to the section that shows how to install in Windows 7, 8, 10 and 11. Feel free to message me with any questions.

Hey GotMetalBoy, if you know Steven at the FB FAMC page, could you please let him know that I requested to join the group 8 days ago? Thx.

I’m trying to figure out if there is an equivalent LF+ feature to IA maps that allow us to limit the presets available on a specific page. Since I use nearly all IA slots, I now need to program presets as IA slots for use on several pages. How do I direct the LF+ to only show these new presets?

Just wanted to say thanks for the wiki page. Got my mini+ and pro+ firmware updated from v.4 with the archived files. Sucks to have to boot a win VM, but at least there is an option.

The GUI editor on my VM in win10 looked horrible, BTW. the Window panes were very narrow to the point most content was illegible. But luckily I don't need to change layouts at this point...I guess there is always editing via the foot controller when needed...

I couldn't get it to install or work on my Windows 11 virtual machine running on my iMac Studio, so I ended up buying a used HP pro desk 600 running windows 11 for $85 and everything installed and worked on the first try! The GUI also looked terrible, but I was able to drag the windows wider to see everything. Now it stays that way every time I open it.

As for FAMC, Jeff has not replied to any of my emails since the lockdowns.

I talked to him a few times when I had my 12+. I knew he had a son he was caring for. Super nice guy and super helpful when you finally were able to get in touch with him. Too bad.

I talked to him on the phone a few times also when I had my LFjr+. Really nic guy and as others stated caring for his son was his main focus. IMHO, his products were incredible and I can only imagine if he still developing how incredible his LF stuff would.

Is the FB group still around? Tried the link, but it says it’s not available. 🤷‍♂️
I just checked and it said it was archived because there was no admin. I clicked the button to unarchive and it made me the admin. I've never been an admin before, so not sure if there's anything else I need to do.

Let me know if you still can't access the link:

Yes I could load the FB page , but the group is private, need to join but I dont have FB...
Hope that you can find someone who can assist with the FAMC editor and builds... As far as I have seen/read these are top notch working together (if it works)

But if not .::::.
Time for you guys to buy a Teensy 4.1 and rebuild your awesome controller to work with the fractal using the AxeControl library... its worth it!
Really, I have no clue how the FAMC is build, but if there is a way to connect the switches and screens to the Teensy then there is hope for a second life.

Cheers

I have a LF Pro+ and an AxeFXII. I am considering getting a FM9. I see templates for the AxFxIII, but not for the FM9. I know the LF stuff is becoming scrap metal, but…

Is it safe to say that the LF Pro+ can control the FM9, if I have a desire to do so? Can it sync preset names and IA slot status still with the FM9?

Not sure if it would fully work with the FM9 or not. The sysex messages would have a different model ID for the FM9 (0x12) in the header, so the FM9 may not respond to any messages with the Axe III model ID (0x10) in the header.

Standard MIDI PC and CC based functions should still work, but those are much more limited.
