You will get along fine with it, but warning: you can go down many different rabbit holes with these units. I would recommend that you first go through all the factory presets to find what you like and then dissect what makes those presets float your boat. Then set sail on building your own with what you have learned. Any way you go about it, be sure to enjoy it while you play rather than letting it turn into a tweak fest (which it has done to many of us over the years)! I've no real need for such a beast as only been playing a few years, but as a software engineer by trade I love deep diving into technology and what some might see as overly complex, I see the opposite. As for FM9 vs any of the others? It's amazing what AM4 and FM3 being out of stock will doI've tried a few cheap modellers and just never really loved the sounds so I'm hoping I'll grow into the FM9.
