Fx8 Road Cases?

Keep an eye on e-(sittin' on the dock of the)-bay. There's usually a couple 28"x16" or 32"x16" lightweight ATA cases with a pedalboard in the $140 range. There are heavier duty ones in the $180 range. The 28"x16" would fit the FX8 with 2 expression pedals nicely with room for the cable connections on the rear. I found an overstock 32"x16" heavier duty myself for $130 and it's been working nicely.IMG_7901.JPG

I ordered the CNB PDC-410F MSBK Black because i planned to use only 1 expression pedal.
Other than that, i cannot wait until the 27th to receive my pedalboard!!!
Hey man, have you receive your hardcase? How is it?

Lol. Thanks for the pictures. Definitely im getting it. Enough space to keep cables in it too. Which is what i wanted.

Gentlemen,

The FX8 dimensions are: 16.35" x 3.96" x 10" / 415.29mm x 100.6mm x 254mm

Soft Case:

Gator Case (GK-2110) with interior dimensions of: 22.5" x 11.5" x 4". You can buy them many places, including BestBuy, Amazon. In Canada, you can purchase one for CDN$49.99 (plus tax) and free shipping.

Thanks for the info...I got one of these and it perfectly holds my fx8 and Roland ev-5 in the main pouch, plus cables on the outer.

Hey man, which one did you get?

I just bought one from rondo and they refunded my money saying that for me its an excuses not to ship the board to me. Even i paid for it already. Im still trying to find a case that can fit the FX8 with 1 expression pedal

Will the 1SKB-SC2111 can fit with 1 expression pedal? That's the only one that i can find that can ship worldwide

Hey man, sorry to keep askin you about the case, do you think you can measure the exterior of the CNB case you bought? The only ones I found are the interior dimensions. Im making a custom case from thon. So i just wanna make sure to get the right measurements.

Im copying the dimension of the cnb from the website, just need the exterior measurements.

This is the only option i have for me to get a case that can ship to me.

I decided to go with the Gator Case system. I got the large G-Tour. The board is 13" x 25.75" if you include the border. I wanted to get two expression pedals on but didn't want to go to the next larger sized board from other companies as they seemed really big. So I opted to put on two of the new Dunlop Volume X Mini pedals. I don't use a Wah that often and even my volume pedal use is fairly straightforward. I'm not doing constant tiny manipulations. These Dunlops are solid as hell, just like their big brothers, and you can make fine adjustments without the treadle moving every time you take your foot off. There's also enough room left in front of them to put my Shure GLX, once I get some right angles TRS cables for the expression pedals. Basically, I was able to fit everything I need and still keep a reasonable sized board.

If anyone is looking for a good way to secure their FX8 to the base of a road case, a company in Germany makes longer versions of the bicycle link style fixation devices that we've all seen. These are a bit pricey at $1.20 a piece plus shipping but I haven't found anything else out there. If you have your own machine shop then you're in luck. But these are a very nice alternative for the rest of us.

Check out: www.singlecoil.com. You can find them in the DIY section. Go to Online Shop and click on "Little Helpers."

Here is my board. I rebuild an old Rockcase with an enclosure for my powerstrip and with connections on the sides.

FWIW, the Gator G-Tour (large) pictured above in post #176 fits perfectly inside a MONO Pedalboard Tour soft case. This is their medium sized gig bag for boards. So I can put my board inside the flight case that it came with when I travel or gig and put it inside the MONO for rehearsals. Basically I've got the best of all worlds without having to go to a 33" board. This is much more manageable, not to mention lighter weight.
