Presets Fremen FM9 presets masterthread

Third party presets and packs for Fractal Audio products
Thanks Matt! Yes, I've exchanged a few emails with Mike Keneally, to help him with presets installation. I've been a fan since seeing him with Vai on the G3 DVD! I love his unconventional approach to soloing

I forgot to post that here : a new demo fro my "Cleans, Ambient & SFX" pack

It's been recorded with the Axe-Fx III, not FM9, but the presets are mostly the same. It shows the variety of sounds included. Besides the huge variety of clean tones, it has ambient tones that works great for P&W, edge of breakup tones, and special effects...

And that other video shows that the presets works with any guitar :

Hey @fremen I just picked up your Pink Floyd pack it sounds amazing thank you. One question though, there are 4 scenes for the Wish You Were Here preset; I have a PRS Piezo as well - but the Excel file only lists 3, and suggests that Scene 1 should be Radio Lo-Fi tone for the intro acoustic. On the FM9 though, Scene 4 is listed as Radio FX but it has no cab loaded. Scene 1 is clean acoustic, 2 is a delay lead sound and 3 is Chorus / de-tuned as it says but no Lo-Fi sounds.

Any insight would be most appreciated. This is one of the few songs I can play well at the moment so was very keen to get to work on this patch.

Confirmed : it's the xls file that isn't up to date. I added 4 scenes for a piezo-equipped guitar in it, on top of the 4 ones for a standard Stratocaster neck pickup, but forgot the .xls file.

For scene 4 of the piezo scenes, I have a dedicated IR that I forgot to include, but as I also tweaked the EQ blocks for that scene, it should in fact use IR #675

Here's Wish you were here with a piezo PRS :

On the following night I had a PRS malfunction (ahem *) and had to use my Tom Anderson Strat ; fortunately, the same preset has scenes for both guitars :

(*) I simply forgot that the PRS has two output sockets and plugged in the wrong one, shame on me

Thanks that works much better - I just tweaked the Filter block to to reduce the low pass more and while it's not a 12 string it does sound pretty darn close with the PRS Piezo 👍

New pack alert !

I was getting ready to release this new pack with firmware 27.00 of the Axe-Fx III, but the FM9 firmware 8.00 got released first... The demo videos above were recorded with the Axe-Fx III (firmware 27.00 beta), but the FM9 versions are the same.

This pack has 37 presets (+ 20 IRs, including many used only in my Amp Packs, not my regular packs), for FM9 firmware 8.00 (older firmware not supported). The 32 main presets have four scenes, with rhythm, crunch and lead settings. There's also 4 clean and crunch presets with 8 scenes each, and a dual amp morphing preset. This is the follow-up to my Rock & Metal 1 & 2 packs, with amp models added in recent firmwares : Revv Generator, EVH 5150 III Stealth, FAS Stealth Blue, Mesa MK V. I dialed the presets using both my usual monitors and the Slate VSX headphone/plugin, which is absolutely awesome ! I also spent a lot of time on dialing the delay/reverb for the lead scenes of the 32 main presets - not that those on my previous packs were bad, far from that But I tried to use as different delay and reverb settings as I could, for variety.
The name is probably a little bit misleading, as it's first and foremost a Metal pack, not a rock one, well except for the clean and crunch presets.

Besides that, my FM9 Pink Floyd pack has been updated to firmware 8.00. It now has the same sound as firmware 27.00 version for Axe-Fx III, like in this demo :

"Brit Pack" updated to firmware 8.00, with two new bonus presets using the Brit 800 2203 models. The first one is used on the video below :

The second preset is a variation on the first one, with a Dyna-Cab instead of my custom IR, and different delay settings on the lead scene

Great ! The Pink Floyd pack is a best seller, but the Police one deserves more love :)

Guitars only version of my last video :

Firmware update alert : v 11.00 for the Pink Floyd pack. My bad, I skipped the fact that the Colorboost drive has been modified, and I just fixed that in the six presets using it. Better late than never !

You can here the Colorboost in action in Time, Have a Cigar, Any color you like, Breathe, Shine on you crazy diamond here (the demo is for the Axe-Fx III but the FM9 versions sound the same) :

It's also used in the tremolo scene of Money, but I don't use it in the video

I just added 58 bonus presets to my Acoustic simulation pack, based on the new tonematches I made for the AM4 :

The presets are slightly different but the base sounds are the same !
