Reverb does not kill stereo
View attachment 146739
That would be a serious drawback because we normally place the reverb at the end of the chain, and that would kill the stereo imaging of the delay, chorus, rotary, panned CABs, etc.

All reverb models, including the mono spring, maintain the integrity of the stereo path. And the same with the mono delays.
True, but the Reverb sums the input to generate the effected (stereo) wet signal.

The stereo image of the dry signal is maintained, though.

I think maybe you missed his intended insult of the product... It wasn't an actual question.
Yeah, the wording put me off as well. But who am I, but some schlep who prefers to let others engage in verbal fisticuffs while we quaff and enjoy each other's camaraderie. Let the kids have their fun, just know when to pull the plug on the amp when the kegs run dry....

I thought a "True Stereo Reverb" existed and was a different thing...
I thought my GSP-2101 did that, but maybe they did the same thing then... (30 years ago, so what do I know...)
My understanding is that the wet signal of the reverb block is not keeping 100% L/R separation from input even with Stereo Spread > 0 which imparts some stereo effect - it can't because there's no "stereo" input select mode for the block (Only L,R,L+R). The combining is more evident at higher mix levels with audible L/R differences from prior blocks. To get complete separatation, I think you have to run 2 parallel reverbs, one with "input select = "Left" and the other with "input select" = "Right". Rotary is the same - I don't know for sure but I thought the "Input Select" was added to Reverb and Rotary to facilitate "True Stereo" for those that wanted it. My Ax2 does not have "Input Select" on Rotary or Reverb, but it's still possible to do the "true stereo" thing on these using preceding volume blocks - I don't bother for Reverb which I normally have mixed low, but for Rotary, I have some patches with 2 Rotary blocks in parallel to get 100% L/R separation from the preceding signal.

He's talking about other products, not the Fractal Reverb block...

Just wanted to mention that Leon Todd was involved in programming factory presets for the VP4. That alone adds some value and goodness that may be of interest to anyone who's aware of how adept Leon is with dialing in effects tastefully.

The other Fractal Audio expert effects programmer that I will miss in the VP4 is Simeon Harris. I'm not sure that VP4 has enough blocks to realize one of Simeon's evolving ambient worlds.

Thanks to Leon

Hmmmmm... Fractal could "plus up" the experience by selling a "VP4-G.A.S.BUNDLE" that would include the new unit, AND a bouquet of flowers that could be given to all the wives, girlfriends, and significant others who will be left alone while folks are having fun playing with the new toy 😆

Just a thought
