Software FracPad III - iOS/Android/Mac/Win Editor for the Axe-Fx II/XL/XL+, AX8/FX8, Axe-Fx III and FM3/FM9

Third party software for Fractal Audio products.
On the Android version (Samsung tablet) with bluetooth enabled, the 'bluetooth button' never showed up and midimittr was not installed. On the Windows 11 version the bluetooth button did show up (occasionally) and would connect albiet very slowly. Given the other issues in using the Yamaha MD-BT01 I do not believe that this is a viable method of using FracPad currently (at least with the FM9). The cabled USB version works much better. It seems to me that the bluetooth data com interface is just too slow in interfacing with FradPad and the FM9 causing all sorts of odd behavior. Again, if anyone else has had a better experience in using this setup let me and others know how you did it and with what. If the developer has this working well and consistently on an android platform via the Yamaha MD-BT01 and a FM9 or FM3 I would like to more about how this was accomplished.
It was accomplished just like i said upper

Of course Bluetooth is slower than usb

Yes, I did all the 'upper' business on android V12 tablet and no 'bluetooth button' shows up and just keeps saying No connection . . . . .
On the tablet bluetooth settings, the MD-BT01 does show up and can connect on the settings page. However, I have tried multiple times and this tablet android V12 does not seem to seem to connect to the FracPad and never shows the 'bluetooth button'. However on my laptop Win 11 can connect using the FracPad and 'bluetooth button' does show up. I am not using a 3rd party midi in both instances. Not sure what version I have for the Yamaha MD-BT01 although purchased recently. Cannot seem to find a viable Yamaha MD-BT01 utility for android. Sorry for these posts but really wanted this to work.

Don't connect it in the tablet Bluetooth settings
Try to update the MD-bt01 to latest firmware. Unfortunately it's only possible on an ios device

Ok, did not mean MD-BT01 was connected (only paired) and does show up in the bluetooth settings and when I do try and connect there it gives the message "An app is needed to use this device." etc. Am assuming that the FracPad is that app in this case. However, with this in mind the FracPad does not connect and shows no 'bluetooth button' but does show and work as in the case the my windows 11 laptop. I am using an android tablet so have no real way of using the MD-BT01 utility (as only for IOS devices). I am assuming that you developed a bluetooth connection app/code within the FracPad to connect with both IOS and Android devices. However in my case, it does not work without a 3rd party midi connect app and then is somewhat buggy. Not sure where the issue lies but probably going to abandon the efforts for now. Thanks for your suggestions, and can say that the wireless bluetooth function probably works best on IOS devices as the interfaces maybe more compatible etc.

Works also on Android perfectly, but Samsung are special beasts with bad Android implementations...

I have downloaded FracPad Lite today for the first time. Installed in my Android mobile, version 10.12.
Using FM3 fw 6.00 with MD-BT01. It seems that FracPad cannot connect, but maybe I am doing something wrong.
These are the screenshots from main page and log page:

Your md-bt01 doesn't have latest firmware and does not seem to transfer data.
Or maybe you've mismatched in/out

Ok, being somewhat persistent. I updated the firmware for the Yamaha MD-BT01 using my a friends Ipad (ios) from 1.03 to the latest 1.07 using the MD-BT01/UD-BT01 Utility which can be downloaded but only for ios version (no android). Just have your MD-BT01 connected to your fractal unit and turned on. With bluetooth turned on in the Ipad, the utility is self explanatory on how to update. After successful update to 1.07 I then tested again the FracPad app, but still would not connect and showed no 'bluetooth button'. From there I looked at the 'log' from the Fracpad by going to settings (upper left in settings page). I noticed the log showed it could not find fas and that the permission for 'location' for the fradpad was not turned on. I then proceeded to allow 'location' permission for the Fradpad app (turned on when app is opened) in the tablet settings. I then tested the FracPad app again and wha-la the the 'bluetooth button' showed up and I could connect to the MD-BT01. The app first polled the various preset and cab names (5min or more) and then ran as normal. I hope this is somewhat helpful to those with android tablets who cannot get the FracPad to connect to their supported Fractal unit. Most likely it was the 'Location' permission not set in the android settings of the tablet that caused the no connection. However probably is good idea to update the MD-BT01 also.

Yes updating the MD-bt01 to something > 1.04 is mandatory, it had a bad bug i reported them

Nothing happen if I click in the midi in/midi out dropdown menus.
My MD-BT01 is several years old. It works fine with my Macbook Pro.
I cannot upload the firmware of the MD-BT01 because I have no ipad/iphone. I will try to update it using an iphone from a friend.
Thanks for the help, I will keep you informed if I can make it work.

See the posts upper, you need to update it, then you'll see a Bluetooth button in FracPad

How well does the fracpad app work over the WIDI stuff? I'm just testing it out with a roland midi adapter and it seems a lot slower than using the usb port, almost slow enough to be unusable. Is widi faster or is the lag something to be expected?

I'm on iPad pro/FM9 if it makes a difference

Bluetooth will always be slower than usb

Sorry, I hit enter trying to upload screenshots.

Thanks for making this app. I’m having a problem using a Multidelay block I downloaded from another user here, emulating the PCM70 circular delay.

https://forum.fractalaudio.com/threads/lexicon-pcm70-pan-circular-delays-tc1210-chorus.164461/

Everything works well on a laptop with FM3 Edit.

Using FracPad 3 on my old iPad Air 1st gen and Roland UM-One, the block parameters for the particular PCM70 preset do not display correctly. Almost all parameters are missing. All other presets in the Multidly block show up as expected with all parameters.

Choosing the PCM70 preset, there is some flickering where lots of parameters very briefly appears, only for 1/10 sec. before they are gone.mSo something is not working correctly.

Because I’m new here, I seem not to be able to upload screenshots.

Are there any obvious solutions?
