Software FracPad III - iOS/Android/Mac/Win Editor for the Axe-Fx II/XL/XL+, AX8/FX8, Axe-Fx III and FM3/FM9

Third party software for Fractal Audio products.
1.04 (and previous versions for that matter) have been working very well for me so far, thumbs up!
I've been using the iOS version with a Yamaha MD-BT01 with both an axe-fx II & ax8.
Only time I've had any issue is when I've been also editing with axe-edit open at same time, which probably is a no-no, and that has led to some weird x/y state misreporting.

Was thinking about some request stuff for new versions.
1) A performance "pedalboard" mode that can sort of act like a touch virtual MFC. So one could set the screen to show giant scene & FX switches. Also would be great if the size was customizable so you could have a virtual foot controller with as many rows/columns of switches as one desired.
2) A way to turn metronome on/off. Bonus points if you can figure out how to control its volume as well ;-)
Thanks,
1 is in the to-do list since the beginning.
2 no, impossible the axefx does not expose this functionality

Yes use the UD-BT01, works nicely with ios

Hello - enjoying the app functionality. Just purchased the BT01 to use with my AX8 but I just can't seem to get it to pair with my iPad Air1 on iOS 10.2.

I think it may be an issue with the hardware though. I can't seem to get any iOS music apps including FracPad to to recognize the wireless midi device. Is there a setting within FracPad that I am missing? I don't see anything or her than the "connection options page". Is there anything else you would recommend I try?

I have power cycled the BT01 and AX8 and have done a hard reboot on the iPad.

Thanks for any help offered!

Ok got it! Makes perfect sense to me now. Downloaded "Korg BLE - Midi". I connected within that and now it shows up in all music apps including FracPad. I alsohad to select the BT01 as source and it connects nicely.

This or app midimittr.
Be sure to flash your UD-BT01 to firmware 1.03

UD-BT01.jpg reporting back in. Picked up the Yamaha UD-BT01 for use with AX8. This this is small ,I must be careful not to lose this itty bitty $50 thingy.
Installed miidimttr to the Ipad. Plugged everything up. Midimttr recognized the UD. Started Fracpad and I was ediing wirelessly. It all worked 1st try. Happy guy here. Now the test will come when I try to run this along with MackieMasterFader4 for use with our digital mixer. I don't see a reason I can't run bluetooth and wifi simultaneously. We shall see.

Did you upgrade your UD-BT01 to firmware 1.03?

I did not upgrade. I could not find that software from Yamaha. I seems to work fine. Maybe mine is new enough already at 1.03?

It seems to work fine but doesn't if you're not on 1.03.

In order to upgrade it you have to install yamaha ud md utility from the appstore. It's only available in the usa appstore so if you're outside the usa like me you'll have to insert a fake address in your apple account...

For the 2nd point i forgot it had its own CC #122, so yes it's possible :)

Hi! I'm enjoying my fracpad very much, but when using it with my iphone 6s it doesn't allow me to change the amp type, I can edit the rest of the settings for the especific amp I'm in, but I can't switch amp head models

Hi, there's no reason, try to uninstall and reinstall. If it asks for parameters definitions refresh be sure to do it with usb or midi connection, not Bluetooth

Can't connect MD-BT01 to FracPad 1.04. I use MidiMtr and check the Bluetooth device in source and destination.
MD appears in FracPad but it's spinning endlessly. Sometimes I can go to the grid page but it stays empty. Leds on the MD are blinking, that's all.
Last iOs on iPad Air2. Ax8 6.02
