Mine shows "SOFT" as well on my globals.Report: after upgrading the firmware to v20.00, SPEAKER BREAKUP in my "global" Amp blocks is set to "Soft" instead of the default "Medium" value.
Thanks for your insight. High gain is all I care about.@deathbyguitar The one thing I can say about Speaker Breakup is that it’s most apparent to me with high gain palm muting. The pick attack becomes pretty different, and I’ve found Hard works well for me for high gain.
Thank you @macky I tried this and liked it best as it sounds good and I can use it in front of both the SS and FRFR paths; I use two amp blocks, one for real and another for FRFR cabs.I don't post much, but just wanted to express my gratitude to FAS for FW20. It's made guitars I previously didn't gel with simply come alive like never before. Loving how speaker comp on 2 or 4 brings a level of tightness and clarity to high gain presets that my own tweaking never found. I A/B'd a lot between FW19.08 and FW20, and the dynamic distortion is a game-changer for me. Just for fun I ran two dyn dist blocks (depth and mid boosts) in parallel in front of my amp block and I was speechless. It's making me re-calibrate my brain on what this system can do. Thanks!
One thing I've noticed is some comb filtering and was wondering how best to address it?
@yek I should add, after further investigating, my factory presets are set to soft. But my modified presets are normal.
You will need to manually update your global Amp blocks to the desired value. Medium is default when resetting a block.Report: after upgrading the firmware to v20.00, SPEAKER BREAKUP in my "global" Amp blocks is set to "Soft" instead of the default "Medium" value.
I did just that, set to 9 ms.Just a shot in the dark, but I wonder if the most minute of delays on one of them would help, kind of working like the Align feature in the Cab Block.
I know, I got stuck there on the weekend. So good.I haven't had much time to really play with the other updates, but the new Echo Plate Reverb
OH MY GAWD
That is just instant eighties guitar hero
Analog or digital mono delay block, mix 35-50%, adjust to taste in the 100ms-250ms range, feedback low or off. How I do it anyway.Working on some presets for a buddy of mine and he wants a slap back delay, what do you guys usually use for that? Liking this firmware!
Hi, how would the signal path look like?I did just that, set to 9 ms.
Yes indeed, I've done amp sound and acoustic sim switching and cross-fading via Vol/Pan or Mixer blocks since the Ultra, smooth and quiet!I use bypass on occasion, but mostly I use a pair of Volpans, in front of the amps. The amp blocks' self noise is quieter than the small amount of self noise from the SpaceStationXL, even with high gain models....
