Okay. But in windows devicemanger axe III usb port is also dissepears. I'v changed nothing... did only this firmware update
(31.0 > 31.01)

I've been having the same issue since beta. Worked a few days ago and now I can't connect to install the final release. I've tried the reset system settings to no avail. I unfortunately don't have another cable to try at the moment.

The Band Commander in my main gigging preset sounds even better since the update! I have a 1970 Bandmaster sitting right next to me in my studio, I've had my hands in it, gave it a retube and a Cap Job (wow, that sounds dirty LOL) so it's an amp I'm intimately familiar with. While I'll admit I haven't spent as much time dialing it in as I have with the Friedman that's also in this preset, before the update I found that without the Low Cut engaged, it could get a bit flubby. Now, I've got the low cut off and can dial in what I was looking for with the Bass control.

And the Citrus Juicer is EXACTLY what I was looking for in a pedal type comp.

So - I'm roughly 1 month into my Fractal journey, I was already in love with my AxeFX III immediately after I started playing with it - and since then there've been two updates that I consider significant.

Wow!!!!!

Try rebooting your computer and retry?

hello
which cab(s) do you use with the band commander ?
What is your Favorite setting ?
Thanks

BEST FIRMWARE YET!! The Citrus Juicer is fantastic, my new favorite compressor! Merry Christmas to us all!! 🎅

The amps are somehow still getting more accurate, I just don't know how Cliff does it, but he does it, every time.
I've become highly self-aware of the stupid permagrin on my face for the last 90+ minutes. It hurts . . . but I can't put my guitar down and I can't stop grinning. For real.

The 2203 High is absolutely flawless, it's like playing the real thing now. It has been "absolutely perfect" IMHO for 3-4 firmwares now, but this is just beyond belief unless you're playing it. The feel is so perfect, if the gear were in another room it would be extremely difficult to tell the difference between the AFX3 and a mic'd up version of the real thing now. It plays the same, sounds the same, feels and responds the same.

I can't recommend highly enough giving the Citrus Juicer a try, it's stellar and just right!

Thanks SO much for these constant improvements Cliff & Co., we are SO fortunate! Prayers for a speedy recovery brother, thanks for the wonderful Christmas gift!!

Merry Christmas to all! 🤘🎅🤘

I have written this before, but it still baffles me that the Axe-Fx III firmware (without DynaCabs) is still just 9 MB.
And the VP4 and AM4 around 3 MB.
Unbelievable.
Pretty amazing. Other than you, I'm not sure Fractal gets enough credit for this.

The only other audio industry developers I am aware of with this level of coding efficiency are the guys over at Cockos (Reaper).

That 9MB could of course expand into something way bigger after extraction... 100 MB (for example) would not be that baffling anymore.
I guess, theoretically, there could also be a ROM that a firmware is calling functions from.

When the first affordable mini computers became available, the Sinclair ZX81 (1981) had just 1 KB RAM and could run a chess program that was hard to beat (for me at that age).

Got it loaded. The same stage presets I use are now brittle, have way too much high end, and stiffer. Also, the 2290 model is about 30 percent louder and is totally out of whack. 5153 is so brittle it will have to be redone. Also, the C45, a mainstay for my cover gigs, is so far out it will also have to reset from the ground up. Next, after experimenting, I will have to cut and additional 1000k off the 7000k cut I have in the DYNA CAB to see if I can edit out the sharpness. Last, the chorus, like the 2290 is much louder and will also have to be redone.

All this screechy high end sounds fake and processed. I am sure I can edit it out but it will take time. I played last night at a midsized venue and had to do alot more board EQ to stop the ice pick. Before I get the "you should not update before shows" comment, I play a lot here in Asia and often try new firmware at shows to get a true picture of what is happening.

Folks I get that we have to do this occasionally after a major firmware change. But, this one seems very brittle and stiff.

Feedback from the trenches.
