I assume since it wasn't specified to do a reset on the amp block these changes are automatically applied. I do see the "save" light on presets I haven't changed anything on.

I do not know either what could be wrong with my unit. I will check the firmware again this weekend and not only reset the channels of the preset, but also perform a reset of all system parameters. See what happens...

Thank you for checking the amp.
Today I performed a few tests:
1) First, I reset all channels related to this preset using my current firmware version (31.00). The sound remained full and unchanged after I adjusted the settings again.
2) See above, but now I also reset all system parameters (31.00), and again the sound remained full and unchanged.
3) Installed firmware 31.01. Immediately, only this preset had a sound reduction of a few dB, and I could no longer get an overloaded sound (even with the gain/drive set to 10).
4) After this, I reset all system parameters; I still had the same sound, as described in point 3.
5) Installed firmware 31.00 again, and everything sounds as it did before; I can also get an overdriven sound again.

See both attachments regarding the preset and system settings if you'd like to test it. I have no problem staying on firmware version 31.00...

Thanks, I will look into this.

Pinned taskbar icons remain in Windows 10 after an update of Axe-Edit, but not in Windows 11. I just tried it out. However, I'm pretty sure that until recently, pinned taskbar icons also remained in Windows 11. This is most probably Windows 11 related and should perhaps be discussed further here: https://forum.fractalaudio.com/threads/windows-11.216196/ :tearsofjoy:

When you uninstall a program Windows is always supposed to remove all shortcuts to it. What would be the point of leaving shortcuts to something that no longer exists? The rub is Windows doesn't always get them all and can be inconsistent in what it leaves behind.

Different apps handle upgrades in different ways. Some installers check for existing installs first and then uninstall them before proceeding. Other apps skip the uninstall and just install the new version right over the top of the existing version, replacing files and registry entries wherever needed. A third method is to offer the user a choice for a clean install at the beginning of the installer process. If you check the clean install box, it runs an uninstall on any existing installs first, otherwise it just installs over the top.

Perhaps Fractal could add that clean install option to their installers so by default it would not uninstall the existing version first and any shortcuts would remain intact. In the case a user is having issues with the app, they could check the clean install option and it could then uninstall first only as needed.
