Well per the notes I had to track down where signal was being applied in my main gain preset. First though "reverb block" but not so. After a couple short minutes I discovered I had "room level" at 25% for one channel and that was the culprit. Did a quick check of other presets and should be good.

Posting in case anyone else needs to check there too :). Only had under an hour but it's been a blast.

I'm noticing there seems to be a "phaseyness" now. I use a few of the room parameters and will go back and readjust as per Cliffs release notes.

Like you I did go back to beta 4 and there were no issues.
 
ha didnt see it ... it happen that I didn't read everything because if you read... you don't do ! (look for excuses)
but yes this firmware completely fucked your presets if you are not warned, with the compressor and the room things, I had to redo a lot of things... That's life. And also my mesa head is laughing while I am saying this.

How well do the room emulation and compressors work in that Mesa head?

I was thinking of it, I think they need to redo them if they have room or compressor on it.

In my own, I had to re levelled all the scenes with the compressor "On", because they lost some dbs, and turn off that room thing in 30+ presets.

Sorry for the delay. I was playing on my Carvin DC127 with stock pickups, so hope this preset aligns for what you are using, too. Honestly not sure where this preset originated, as I tend to slap pieces together at times, kinda frankenstein-ish. lol

here's some fun you can have if you're into dialing a fresh preset

1) pick an IR that consistently Just Works for you
2) set up an amp block with four channels
  • Nuclear Tone
  • AC20 12AX7 T
  • Euro Blue
  • FAS Rhythm
3) match the impedance curves to your IR
4) swap the tonestacks to JPIIC+ Ylw/Rd, center freq 250, pre position (this will drop the input gain substantially so compensate with input trim)
5) swap the power tubes in Euro Blue and FAS Rhythm to EL34 SVET
6) add the Optical Compressor after the cab block, line level, threshold to -9, everything else default
7) South Church reverb and Tape Flange chorus to taste

some of the most satisfying tones i've had in my whole life. this update rules
