I suspect it's an old problem. I played with Cabinet -> Preamp -> Preamp Type and occasionally changed the preamp type (at a high saturation of 6), and suddenly there was a loud bang in the speaker. Not good for my ears. E.g. changing from Vintage to Tape 35us sometimes seems to lead to the bang if I was playing before. I think that when changing the type, the output has to be deactivated in the firmware code first.

It does this on the transformer preamp type setting too

Don't play while changing the setting. It's been discussed before and there are some things that can produce artifacts if changed while playing. These settings usually have no option to assign a modifier because of that.

If this is the solution, please add a bang warn message for my ears health ;)

Here is my Telly contribution.

“Who loves ya, baby?”

I move that all the tele-vangelists (and others not posting relevant FW26 info) be blocked from participating in future FW threads until they can understand the basics of forum topic participation! I know very well how to scroll by stupidity, but I should not have to when there are so many more appropriate places to brag about your preferred guitar. STFU in this thread if you have nothing to say about FW 26 pb1. Thank you in advance for your complete cooperation on this request!

I need to check tomorrow but I think for me switching to the transformer preamp pops when not playing.

We're at pb3, ackshually, sooo... ;)

Oh, and completely by the by: I don't know why, but recently I've become interested in Teles. Does anybody here even have one anymore and could be coerced into sharing some insights or even just photos?

Reminder to self… NEVER ask to see one’s tele, talk about teles, or even mention the name tele! 🤦🏼‍♂️
Bruh...

These threads are often 20+ pages and a good 80% of the content within is only loosely related to issues around the firmware. It just usually doesn't have any gear porn. This seems kinda nice by comparison.

Oh and, FW26b3 rocks! Awesome job, Cliff! You never sleep! The best gets bester! There's more high end! The lows are lower! etc etc.
