Yes, I explain how I made that preset in my demo videoVai doesn't use the Amp block for his Axe-Fx, so someone else has made that preset for us. The FX blocks are what comes from his rig.
I'm just intrigued that the choice would be to go back to now quite old IRs from the AxeFx2, rather than making use of the new Dyna-Cab tech.
The 59 Bassguy preset now has the "Factory" version in Cab Channel A, the DynaCab version in B, and the Legacy in C. Note that there are other changes in the banks. See the OP for details.
@Admin M@ How about this https://forum.fractalaudio.com/thre...resets-for-firmware-27-03.210377/post-2631109 ?View attachment 149504

The Axe-Fx III factory presets have been updated for firmware version 27.03 or newer.
A special thanks to @fremen for his significant contribution to this project. We couldn't have done it without you!
Thanks also to @austinbuddy, @Mark Day, @chris, @2112, @iaresee, @Cooper Carter, @Patzag, @simeon, @dr bonkers, and everyone else who helped.
As always, we recommend backing up your current presets before performing any major update or installation.
- Selections from past Gift of Tone releases are now included at the end of Bank C ("RE-GIFT OF TONE!")
- A few Easter eggs (or should we say stocking stuffers? ;-) are found within the update.
Happy Holidays, and thank you as always for choosing Fractal Audio Systems.
EDIT: Jan 02 2025 - The link and zip file are the same, but a new version of the files is now on the server. This includes a minor level and sound tweaks, a change to the 59 Bassguy preset cab block, plus some fixes to modifier sources that were set to "FC" instead of "External".
Thanks!Nothing went "back" -- the presets were always using non-DynaCabs and sounded good so nothing was done with them.I know @iaresee states that you prefered the "Legacy" IR's for certain presets, which is great. I'm just intrigued that the choice would be to go back to now quite old IRs from the AxeFx2, rather than making use of the new Dyna-Cab tech.
Correct. That preset was @fremen's creation using the GoT effect blocks.Vai doesn't use the Amp block for his Axe-Fx, so someone else has made that preset for us.
I don't believe that statement is true.But that's my point. They have been changed, to the older legacy IR's.

Sounded like ear candy with just my beater Fender Bullet Squier I upgraded with a Duncan J.B!All goodI've got a confession. I'm wrong. I redownloaded the old 19.04 Presets and some are different to what I have.
I must have made my own alterations a while back and completely forgotten about it.
I apologise.

There are many comments from Cliff in the Dyna-Cab section of the Wiki's Cab block page.The Dyna-Cabs were not meant to be a replacement to the IRs (or even the old IRs), they are there to give us more options when shaping our tone. Some IRs (as you probably already know) are mixed differently when recorded, and they can have a really nice sound that still works well today, no matter how old they are. And the Dyna-Cabs are not meant to replace those, but they do give us a different way to explore the tonal options of a particular speaker/mic combination.
