I hate the fact that I have EMG707tws in my guitar, but it ended up providing some interesting tonage for this new song I'm working on. What do you guys think of it? Oh, and there is unfortunately no bass gtr in it . . . yet.
Kick arse :)
I think the EMG's sound pretty good in that. I used to have some, but changed 'em for Lundgrens. If you're looking to change, those are worth considering - they're cool for low djenty-type stuff.

H3LLz yeahs! When I seen Acacia Strain, I thought I was at the wrong forum! Not much love for heavier styles here it seems. I don't know what Zeuss did... But DL's guitar tone on Woodworm is the heaviest I've heard in awhile. Yes, this sample will sound H3LLIFI3D with a bass guitar!

Yeah, I was thinking about BKP's Aftermath, but I just don't know if I'm sold on it really. I mean, I have cold sweats in my 6 string and they're okay, a little too trebley sometimes though. Are the Lundgrens sterile sounding at all?? I've heard people say that, but then again I suppose they wouldn't be so renowned if they had unpleasant characteristics hahah.

Thanks! And yeah seriously, his guitars sound absolutely devastating on Wormwood, I'd be interested to see his signal flow when he tracked.

What do you think about the BKP painkillers?

I just added some more to this song and I bounced it as a .wav so I can keep my precious 192kHz for the time being.

But here's an mp3 if the other one loads too slowly (in all honesty . . . there's barely an audible difference hahah)

And, what the hell I guess, here's a link for any 'soundclickers'.

I wouldn't call them sterile. I guess they don't colour the sound a great deal though.
But they're very tight though and they don't turn to mud with very low frequencies like a lot of other pickups.

Hell Yeah! I like where its going man, keep it up, What tuning are you in?

this tone is rad. i look forward to hearin this track with a bass added. any tips on getting a similar tone? i've been toying with the axe for a week trying to get a decent wormwood tone to no avail.

Wow, seems there's a lot of people from Chicago here, nice! @KyleUMF I'm in drop A and I had Painkillers in my six string before I changed them to Cold Sweats, I would probably recommend the Painkillers, especially for seven strings. Or maybe even Aftermaths, I hear those are like Painkillers but tighter and yet somehow still fuller sounding. and @ JStarkey It was tough for me to get good metal patches up and running, it just took so much tweaking. Here's the patch from this song, http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14827226/Punch It! 7Rhythm.syx hopefully that'll help

Yeah dude all the time! Were headlining Mojoes march 4th, we played the whitechapel show at Clearwater and darkest hour, veil of Maya, periphery all at clearwater recently
