Sixties. Ok, 63-73.
The beat ended all this schmalz whining. Yeah!
My home aera, circle 20km, had 2 bigger places to go for about 1000, Pretty Things, Them etc.
and more then a dozen small ones, good for us, the group south of us, 7 km, the group north of us, 5 km.
Today 1 of the big ones still exist. And 3 of the small ones. Our group now "local legend"...
Then there was this paper, Elektroniker.
There you could find info about ICs, OSCs, etc. pp.
If you can't buy it, and you could not, DIY.
And many of our friends did. The guy from Sixty-Nine, down there in Mainz, made a full truck full of stuff.
Sounded amazing.
Same story with Kraftwerk, up there in Düsseldorf. You probably know them...
Then this never ending "battle" between London and San Francisco.
From Animals to Zeppelin, the Mothers in between.
Hitch hike cross continent. Woodstock, Windsor.
Smoke. Mini. Pill.
Velvet Underground, Gong, Pentangle, Dylan.
A wide range.
And thousands of bands leading to an explosion of music.

As said before: if you didn't experience it, it's hard to imagine.
A golden age.

But today we have Axe Fx.
And that isn't bad either!
So, no need to worry.
Or, beware!, falling back into schmalz whining...
