The new amp voicings you can choose from (IE modern, rock, pop etc), are they just pre-set EQs, or something else? Cliff?
they seem to get muddier overall for vintage warm except neutral modern and treble
that's probably because your patches are metal patches, the other ones are not meant for metal patches. If you were uning a vintage amp, playing vintage music. Or had a really bright amp you wanted to tame the highs on, you could use warm.

Are the voicings only affecting the EQ curve or also affecting the overall behavior of the amps?
