I've gotten this to work up to the point of recording the DI track being played back through the Axe. I haven't been able to get the reamped signal back into Logic.

Yes, I do have a converter. I don't typically record more than one instrument at a time but I would prefer to leave my mics connected to the interface vs unplugging when needed.

That’s essentially Strabes method. My interface does have SPDIF in but not out. I’m considering getting another one if SPDIF in & out would improve my workflow with using my interface.

I've done this but have not been able to figure out how to send a recorded DI track to my Axe-FX, play it back and hear the DI track, via my interface, as it's being played back through the Axe. Could you point me to the workflow setup for this? I appreciate the support.

I tried again and it's now working but I'm not certain about something. I'm not sure what was slightly off but I was routing from Output 2 on the Axe-FX to my interface. I changed it to Output 1. What I noticed is the entire mix is recorded on the track unless I solo the track I want reamped...

Turned up - yes. On my grid - no. DOH! I've got the above routing setup and working in my DAW. However, I can't have system sound (i.e. youtube) playing from Out 1 & 2 at the same time. I can only "Configure Speaker" for one or the other at a time. Is there a way to do this?

I've decided to try using my Axe-FX as my interface, connecting my studio monitors to Output 2, controlling that with Out 2 and controlling my headphones with Out 1. I am getting no sound out of Out 2 to my monitors and the right side of my headphones is getting a his sound.

Yeah, I'm baffled. Everything seems to be the same as what you have and I can't locate what would be causing it. Not sure if this is a clue but I notice that when I have the I/O plugin on, I get no signal showing in the track in Logic. When it's off, I do and I can hear audio via 9-10.

5E3 Tones - Is This Tone Possible With Our 5E3?

Crackling Noise When Recording Using Stock Preset But Not With New Preset - 17.01 beta Related?

I've seen an excellent review on the 4 legged UPLIFT and it got very high marks. Stability is unbeatable. I must say I prefer the looks of the 2 leg version and I know the 4 is a higher price point. Lots to consider.

Uplifting/Standing Studio Desk: Anyone Using One in Your Studio?

I've been looking at a lot of desks and UPLIFT keeps topping the list. How's the stability/wobble when standing? I would probably want to add a larger pull-out tray to accommodate a larger MIDI keyboard, keep my Mac keyboard, etc on top.

I am seriously considering using a lifting studio desk so I can get some stand time in when I'm not mixing. I might purchase the stand/lifting mechanism and build my own desktop. I was wondering if anyone else is using one in your studio? If so, which one did you go with and why?

You Guys/Gals Are in for Another Treat

"Distortion texture" may be the phrase I've been trying to think of for many years when I try to describe "that sound" I'm chasing that I hear in an amp of someone else playing but can't seem to get myself. Sometimes I think of it as a "brushy, airy" texture or even some "hair" on a tone instead...

RAM Memory Upgrade - Crucial or OWC?

I decided to go with 64. I found it for $220 and this way I’ll know the RAM will absolutely be enough. Cheaper than upgrading again later.

All things considered, would 64 GB be a waste? if I’m not using large orchestral libraries, would it go to waste? Budget wise, I don’t want to spend the extra if I don’t need to, but I will if I need to. I sometimes will use YouTube or zoom, etc when using Logic.

I've used both in the past. When I look at Crucial's site for the Mac Mini I just ordered, they list several options for the same amount of memory. The machine I just order is the "3.2GHz 6‑core 8th‑generation Intel Core i7" Mac Mini.

Good points. I just placed an order for a new 3.2GHz 6‑core 8th‑generation Intel Core i7 with 1 TB storage. Now to purchase 32 GB RAM, an external SSD or 2 and learn how to connect everything (going from a Late 2012 setup to this).

Collaborating With Other Artists - Multiple Axe-FX 3 Routing Scenarios For Different DAW Project Settings

I typically work/record at 48kHz so I can route my Axe-FX III to my DAW via USB. I've recently started collaborating with other artists (producers, songwriters, etc) and many of them are sending me Logic Pro X projects. It's not practical to ask everyone to send projects with a 48kHz sample...

I did try this. Not sure if I was supposed to do anything other than drag the app to the trash and restart my Mac. When I reinstalled it, all of my previous preference changes were still intact.

I started having a strange issue where either out of the blue or when starting a new session I would get an error "Selected Driver Not Found". It seems this only happens when I set to project sample rate to anything other than 44.1kHz. I've tried the troubleshooting steps per my audio...

Humanscale Freedom Chair - Not Impressed - Seeking Alternatives

This is basically (if not exactly the same) the chair I have had for many years. After trying out several chairs, I ended up buying a new hydronic lift cylinder ( the old one kept sinking) and a Purple seat cushion and now it's better than new.
