Tips for achieving this lead tone?

The lack of attack on the notes is caused by the awful camera/web cam built-in compressor, I bet it sounds drastically different in person. I get the exact same effect when recording with the iMac built in cam so I'm pretty sure that's what's going on here!

There's nothing added to the guitar track, just a limiter on the Stereo Out to bring up the level a few dbs, doesn't affect the sound though

Yeah this patch was created to be played on studio monitors and for direct recordings, If I'd have to play it through a PA I'd definitely filter out some lows and highs. Start with a low cut at 100hz/hi cut at 8khz and go by ear from there!

Yep at the time of this video the guitar was still stock (JT6/J90c pickup), now it's got a Seymour Duncan JB and a black original Floyd, it was a direct replacement, but I've kept the stock mounting studs and inserts. My model 2 is an '87 so I'm pretty sure it should fit perfectly on yours as...

My vote goes to the Charvel San Dimas, for the money it's hard to beat for the 80s stuff. I'm not a fan of the 1000 series Floyds though, so I'd probably replace that with a Made in Germany one. I've done that on all my 3 Charvels, no regrets! Neck heel is still in the classic "bulky" Fender...

Probably too hot and middy, if you have a guitar with HSS or HSH configuration you could use the bridge inner coil+middle, that should work just fine.

If you swap the Plexi with the 6160 block (bass at 6, mids at 3 or 4, treble at 6), and keep the pitch detune and stereo delay on it's pretty much the Balance tone ;) I personally like that album, but I'm not a huge fan, I feel he really started to change his sound from that record, tons of gain...

His sound was definitely more chorus-y, I believe he was using the lexicon pcm 41 to get a chorus-like effect, but I personally prefer the fixed pitch detune, especially on rhythms, doesn't get as swirly/swampy but still retains a very similar feel!

^ ^ ^ ^ This ;) That's the setting I'm using, sounds spot on to my ears. Anything more than -9/+9 is too much for Ed's stuff IMO. I like to crank it to -11/+11 for more of a Chris Holmes tone, always loved his guitar sound on WASP's early stuff. 11/12 cents works great for Mick Mars/Dr Feelgood...

99.9% sure the main amp throughout the album is the PVH 6160 Block, that's Misha's favorite, he goes over his patches quite often in his Twitch/Youtube streams. He also probably used the Friedman BE on the tighter/lower gain parts

Thanks dude!! Thank you! Yep that's exactly what I did, I've tried to get 90% there by ear first, I then used the EQ match feature in FabFilter ProQ3 and tried to match the eq curve on the AxeFx as close as possible!
