Nektar Pacer....thoughts?

Thanks so much for the response and honesty. I use iFCB to program my Behringer so it's really a breeze. But the Pacer looks like the future so I'm almost on board. The editor would truly be the clincher for me.

Picked up a DBX RTA-M omni mic

FCB1010 Troubles

Do yourself a favor and get yourself iFCB. It's a great editor for the FCB1010, I've never felt the need to get a third party EPROM. You won't regret it.

Sure do. Often times the receivers for wireless guitar and wireless microphones are the same exact units. Assuming most are using a 1/4" unbalanced cable between the receiver and the axe. In that case I believe what I said still holds true.

I'm not sure about wireless receivers outputting and line level. That doesn't make any sense to me, as running a line level into a real amp would overload it easily. It's probably more about buffers than levels. A wireless receiver's output is probably closer to a buffered instrument level...

Does that mean that the track being reamped must be solo'd during the reamp process? If you select USB as input, is everything playing back routed through the DSP? For example, if you were reamping a guitar track, could you not tweak the guitar track while listening back to the bass/drums/etc...

The idea is great, but there are already devices out there that are basically virtual pots that operate over midi. I would much prefer to have a device I can put in a rack drawer with a slew of assignable v-pots. Your idea is nice, but realistically you have to be able to tweak the Drive block...

My AxeFX tone tweaking skills were eaten by a JCM800!!

I agree with you that the poweramp itself is probably not the problem, that cab blocks should be off if running into actual cabs, etc. The only problem I have with turning poweramp emulation off completely, is that by doing so you're potentially eliminating half of your tone/feel shaping...

Yes, I'm well aware of the difference between poweramp sim on and off, and turning sag to 0 and all that great stuff. :lol: However, there is also a difference between the Master at 8, and the Master at 1, and yes, it's also about the distortion because every part of the signal chain imprints...

Hey man- Have you tried turning the master down in the amp block? Turning the sag down (not off) affects the feel, sure, but if you're running into a tube poweramp you probably want to turn down the master in the amp block too. That way you're still getting poweramp emulation, but its as if...
