Matrix power amp and guitar cab users...a question...

If you want to try sims on I would recommend checking out the Matrix NL212. People have had pleasing results with running cab sims on with that cabinet. It's a tradition cab but wider range of frequencies. His cab handle a wide range of playing styles and tones as well. Love mine!

AXE FX2 + GT1000 FX what 2x12 cab do you advice?

XL + GT1000FX + FR212 = Awesomeness!!!

The FR212 has ow end/feel of a traditional cab and then some. The videos don't show the feel but it is there. Might have to do a video and rattle some empties of the top of the cab :)

vht 2/50/2 or matrix series?

Go with the GT1000FX. Would give you options for more or larger cabs if you changed up the rig. Also, if you went FRFR you would just need some passive speakers for a great sound.

Matrix NL12 IR experiments with new toys

Thought I would share a few few IRs i made. I just got an Focusrite ISA-ONE and a Cloudlifter. These are my first experiments with them. NEW NL12SM57 A is SM57, Cloudlifter CL1 and Matrix power amp. New NL12SM57FOCUS A is SM75, ISA-1 and Matrix. More cabs and experiments to come in the future...

I can't speak for the CLR but I can say that I have 5 different traditional speaker cabinets and 1 ( was 2 already sold one off) tube power amp in the garage collecting dust. Will be selling them soon. Randall, Marshall and Engl. I think what makes me like the FR212 and the fact that it works...

You would probably be ok but just be careful not to drive your power amp to hard. The Matrix GT amps are designed to mimic some of characteristics of tube power amps. There are great debates back and forth on the differences in the Matrix GT amps and regular tube amps. All I know is this works...

Yeah one of these would work for you. I would say just be careful if you are running you Carvin bridge Mono with the FR212. Matrix recommends min power to be 500w and max to be 1000w. These are 4 ohm cabs

I'm not playing out at this time but do practice in a full band setting. All heavy tunes. Drop C tuning. I've enjoyed all the sounds at low and high volume but it really opens up as volume goes up.

I have not played the Atomic stuff so cant comment on it. I know Matrix does not recommend using bass with the FR212 but If you had 2 of them I would think your might be ok. I would double check with them. Metal and acoustic stuff sounds great!

I like were this is going! Ha Before the FR212 I had a NL12 and Engl 4x12 I was using. These were used in stereo and I even had some patches with 2 amps and a slight delay on one for a super thick/ double guitar sound. This was fun and sounded great but I'm really diding the FR212 on its own...

I've played Many cabs and really like what the NL12 is doing for a standard cab... It has that little extra that my other cabs don't seem to have. And sounds as huge as a 2x12 if not more.
