How to bring in a Whammy without Auto Engage

Thanks for posting this! I was just fiddling with my whammy settings earlier today, being annoyed at the "click" when auto engage kicks in. Can't wait to try this.

It sounded really weird to me at first as well, very bassy and it was clipping my focusrite soundcard. But then I saw that only one cab was loaded. Loaded the cab into user preset 25 and all was well. Compared a couple of the presets with the record and it's really close.

Do you record with effects?

I only record with effects if it's for something very specific like a solo with wah wah or a phaser or delay effect for a certain part, that I can't get right with effects in the daw. But I always record a dry D.I. signal as well, and those same parts without the effect, just the main tone. Good...

The new MATRIX GT800FX. THE amp for THE Axe-Fx

I'm trying to decide between the 800 and the 1000. I have a Peavey 16 ohm 4x12 cab. The matrix and the cab will mainly be for rehearsals and for my stage sound live. Do I need the 1000, or is the 800 enough for my needs?

Jam up pro or an axe fx 2 ??

I like Jam up pro for the same reasons as TakaraGold, great for jamming/practicing while on vacation, backstage or one the tourbus. It's pretty decent for recording, but for live playing and recording albums it can't match the axe fx II in any way.

what if local venues have bad quality monitoring? buy a cab?

What type of mixer and in wireless systems do you use for the in ears? I'm sick of bad monitoring on stage, so really looking to start using in ears.

Thanks! I really like the 30" scale. The tension is great, there is no flubbyness in the low strings, the low f# rings out nice, clear and tight. Bends on the higher strings are kinda tough, but I don't have big problems with that. I want to change the pickups though, they are the stock passive...

Rotary on Axe 2

I haven't tried the rotary on the Ultra, but I'm really happy with the rotary on II, using it on a song I'm working on atm. Sounds absolutely great imo.
