I prefered amps I could use both with single coils and humbuckers.
Somewhere long the updates that got more and more difficult.
Especially with the Friedman HBE, Cameron CCC Ch2 and Marshall JVM 410.
I got to like the Diesel Herbert Ch2- and Ch3 but it didn't have the clarity I got with the Friedman.
But now.....all is well again.
I can use the amps I loved with my Strat and Superstrat again.
I'm as happy as a clam

Guess you're scientifically right, howbeit, in the "old" times I changed three times chinese 12AX7 for JJ Tesla 12AX7 and guess I thus "got high" for a very low price compared to the NOS syndrome. Still I was convinced the JJ did have some softer tone than the chinese stuff (and BTW I permit myself to remain convinced, but what the heck....now I have Axe Fx). But I do not claim to be a tube expert; only FAS can claim this title actually.

I had a nice graphic lined up, but it appears my quotum is used up. I have 19kb left...
Actually I had 2 lined up, but Tyra Banks in a 10mln$ bra may not be according to forum rules...

BTW, what is the LF Res parameter? Speaker tab Low Resonance? I always turned it down to reduce boominess. My soundman wants me to be inaudible, turning down the lows allows me to hear something of what the bleep I'm playing... He's gonna be tickled with this FW.

Had the same when changing all my 12AX7s to Ruby. That was the old Ruby tubes. Not the ones that bought the brandname after that. Definitely a fuller tone and more pleasing highs. That was in a Peavey Rockmaster preamp and Boogie 50/50 PA. So even in that there was a very noticable difference. Changing the first tube in the chain was definitely the biggest diff, BTW. As everyone was predicting.

Does the Preamp Sag parameter mean that you can simulate accurately even further? What I mean by this, is turn it 'off' for models such as the Bogfish and the Brit Pre, simulating the real-world, separate preamp/poweramp set-up?
 
Heading home from work now to load up the beta. Have a feeling I may be skipping dinner tonight to mess with it. The wife and kids can cook for themselves. ;)

Yeah there is lots of different ,in preamp if you chance preamp tubes. V1 is almost every time ,that biggest thing. Some amps need more push ,in preamp circuit to get that smooth tone. And there is then tungsol 12ax7 and some another preamp tubes ,witch give little bit more push in sound. And I always figured out this ,if you have too bright tone and little bit harsh. Always cure for that ,is replace some JJ 12ax7 preamp tubes ,and sometimes if that will not help then chance poweramp tubes to JJ el34 or 6l6.

There is very big different ,whit preamp tubes. JJ tubes are very dark sounding tubes ,those will cut some high frequency problems. And one good example was ,when I was have Marshall 8100 hybrid amp ,and that amp was only have one preamp tube in lead channel. And I was test many preamp tubes ,and then I found one it was Bugera 6262 Chinese preamp tube. That tube always sounds in my ears best ,for that amp. I was test some JJ ,Tungsol ,Mesa and so on..... whit that amp ,but that Chinese Bugera

6262 preamp tube sounds always best whit that 8100 Marshall.

Man - I'm Jealous and I already loaded it up. But I'm at work now, got a funeral tomorrow and I'll be AXE-less for a week skiing in Utah after that!

Can you rent an Axe FX in Salt Lake City? ;)
