What's been the track record for FAS as far as time between product announcement and actual ship dates?

I know they end up with big wait-list but do they typically have the first units shipping quickly after announced? Or typically more waiting after the announcement?

🤡
It has always been soon :D

I'm really hoping for a compact/tabletop amp head format with dedicated knobs/switches for most commonly used settings and a few select amp models + drives + effects. I love my FM9, but often get discouraged from using it since it's on the floor and the UI is not as approachable as a traditional amp layout. FM Edit is excellent, but then I have to use my computer.
So basically something similar to the Kemper (please don't ban me!) head, but the Fractal version.

The last gigs with the Axe III after FW 26.xx were that satisfying, beyond playing an amp, that I can hardly imagine getting something even better. Maybe it's not better but something different?

If you release a product on Friday then the developers have to work over the weekend to make sure the site doesn't crash. We'll see the product next week when everyone is back at work.

Or the new product is so advanced that it's intangible and just a part of our brains that gets flipped on after purchase.

Anyone think the server maintenance is to increase server capacity for when they make the new product announcement?
Typically merges to a production environment don’t happen at the tail end of the week. Engineering doesn’t want to spend the weekend fixing bugs. More importantly, their web platform is comprised of a Wordpress site for product and a Big Commerce implementation for their storefront. They don’t really have anything to push live for a new product launch. Just new data uploaded with Wordpress’s normal CRUD tool.
but If you were to be able to find anything, maybe go to network tab in your browsers dev tools and start looking through assets lookin for anything new. With their current tech stack it is doubtful they are using feature flags, route guards, and or otherwise redirecting traffic.

As far as load balancers for the servers? 🤷
Do they have dev ops?
What type of load are they REALLY expecting?

Yeah. What they said.

What if the new product is software, not hardware. If it is software, then they would possibly need to beef up servers/bandwidth to handle the load. Of course, pure speculation. But, there has been a desire for a Fractal plugin. This certainly wouldn't compete with any hardware products.

Not on the Forum server...

And new software doesn't need firmware, so we've already established long ago that it's not software.

K - I guess I missed (or forgot) the part of the thread where the need for firmware was mentioned. And I'm glad that you clarified because I don't want to suggest something that's been ruled out already.

Here's the original quote from Cliff:

Won't be much longer for the FM3/9. The engineers are spread a bit thin right now as we have a new product coming out in the next few weeks and they're putting the finishing touches on the firmware.
