This unit is now as it was when it came from the factory except for the firmware. Hooked straight up to K12 speaker. I notice the problem on the update before last. I thought the latest update would fix it.

I know Cliffs is a distortion but, it gets muddy. Most distortions sound like a blown speaker instead of a chain saw. Cliffs sounds like the mids are scooped out and the bass is turned all the way up.

Just to be clear the Axe O Matic can convert Ultra to Axe II? I was able to put edit in Ultra mode then took scree shots of each amp, cab and effects. It's a bit time consuming.

Shasha. I think it sounds great! Nice job. Of course once you add drums, bass, more guitar, and mix it, it's hard to tell if the tone of the main guitar has a problem.

Yes like I said I have tried all suggestions. Even plugging into back (L) does not sound any different. Maybe it's just my ears. I know the II is going to sound a little different but too me all presets are watered down compared to Ultra. I would have thought the opposite.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a less expensive foot controller? Would a Behringer FCB1010 or ART x-11 work? Will the expresssion pedals also work? If it has a diplay will it show the AXE persets as well? Thanks!

I spent the day tweaking. I found the best results with the cabsim ON and tweaking the global EQ. I was able to get some killer sounds. Cabsim OFF still sounded thin and digital even with tweaking the EQ Sounds. weird huh? So I could go and put an EQ on each individual patch and get it perfect...
