Xitone still in business?

I have a working Xitone that I use regularly. If I plug it in to the software, will it at least show me the custom EQ that I could then screenshot and share to you guys? Would that help any?
Yes! That would be immensely helpful.

Is it a wedge or a cabinet model? And what speaker?

It's the black wedge with the metal grill cover.
Pretty sure it has the PPA800dsp power amp.
Looking at the amp manual now.
I would think the software would show the "flat" EQ which is Mick's custom EQ.

There are tons of free correction software products out there - but yes, you need a good measurement mic (I have a DBX).
If you know anyone with a DBX drive rack and the DBX mic, you can use their pink noise process to create the EQ curve to flatten it in the DBX (and then recreate in Dayton's software).

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say - Mick likely had no professional measurement equipment. He seemed to be a guy with a woodshop that wanted to dip his toe into building speakers. I wouldn't be surprised if someone could come up with a better (flatter) curve than he had.
Someone send one to Jay Mitchell...lol.

Xitone used an older model plate amp, similar to the PPA800dsp but without the USB port on the back. I'm not sure how much else I should disclose publicly but I'm not sure it actually makes a difference at this point. However if anyone wants to PM me about it...

@Rex to be clear: I have an older amp without a USB port on it. That necessitates some sort of dev kit from Dayton to connect their software to it to program it.

I've been over this a bunch and the cost isn't zero, unfortunately.

Probably easiest to shell out the $400 now for a PPA800DSP and drop that in instead...

Or find a local amp tech and ask what the cost may be to repair that existing module?
Yours has some type of connection inside for the PC link....maybe pop it open and take a pic?

The red sound stuff is only ok IMO .
Every time a product is sold through g66 or fractal it becomes this holy grail instantly. Atomic, matrix, redsound. Blasphemy to say anything else than praise. Mostly the stuff is expensive, so it’s understandable ppl do 3 things: 1. : It’s expensive so it is great. 2 I paid a lot of money so I spent it well. 3 Fractal sells it so it must be good.

I understand the mechanisms and I am guilty of the same sometimes…

The existing module isn't broken. It just has zero corrective EQ and crossover settings stored in the module. Factory fresh, so to speak.

It's a ribbon cable assembly inside to connect it for programming.

Other option is to go passive and create your own Xover. I thought Mick used to buy his Xover, so if someone has a passive version, maybe they can pop it open and look.

I can't belive no one has paid him an in person visit to extract their money from his grubby hands. I know I would have long ago.
Yeah, like I’m travelling thousands of miles and crossing a border to attempt to get money from someone who probably has none…

I have the Xitone active wedge and it has all of a sudden have a relatively loud hum. I no longer play in public so just now use it when i want to get really loud in the house; but aloso so infrequent not sure i want to spend the $ to get it fixed. Anybody have any idea on what causes hum (and is it expesnve to get fixed on average).

Same thing happened to mine last year. I replaced mine with the EV wedge.
My Xitone is boxed up in storage right now. I thought about selling it for parts but didn't think it was worth it after shipping fees.
