It's the "everything is ok" alarm.

Edit: I'm only being half a smartass, microcontrollers sometimes have a "watchdog" status reporting light to indicate the processor hasn't locked up. At least the development kits I've worked with a while back have.

Through the side vent holes, I saw red lights blinking under the fan on the mother board... Just curious, what is that? Does the blinking red light indicate any issue potentially? e.g. mother board battery is running out etc...?

(I noticed the red light while peaking inside of the unit due to fan noise, the fan keep running despite my room is fairly cold, not sure why...)

the fan is always running doesnt matter if the room is hot or cold
that light is nothing to worry about it

Cliffs' statement about the light is a sly attempt to throw us of track for security purposes.. because it's above our security clearance level.

It's actually a GPS tracking activation indicator light...
It lets Fractal Audio know via satellite, when someone lifts the hood in an attempts to illicitly tamper with the AXE III'S carburetor to get an unauthorized increased in 'CHUG'.
