What String Gauge do you use on electric (strat)

I have friend like that, and not just the strings... the neck of his guitars really shows it too.

Yeah, I lightly sand the backs of my necks to a "satin" finish, so that the paint doesn't slow me down. It get's sticky if I don't.

My lacquer painted guitars get a weird "cloudy" spot where my arm and hand rest on the body.

I use Elixir Nanoweb 10-46 strings. I love these because the tone and feel is there. And stays.

A very big factor for a balanced strat tone is the pickup height adjustment. This can't be stressed enough.

I don't think I ever actually answered the question posed.

It really depends on what I'm doing, and what gear I'm using, and what I'm trying to do.

However, Drop D on my Epi Les Paul Custom through my Egge trying for prog-metal (it's not quite getting it, but it tries) - I'm currently using DR Titefit 10-46 cause it feels, good, and sounds balanced.

On my Grestch 5120, also through my Egge and achieving Blues quite well - I'm currently using D'Adarrio Chromes, 10-46, cause they feel awesome, and sound perfect.
