What Monitors?

Genelec 8330's with a 7350 Sub.

The closest thing I've heard to Genelecs are the original Mackie HR824's... you can find them used for $400-500... great budget monitors.

Adam T7V, but I find the high a little prominent and not pleasing.
May you suggest me a monitor with softer highs? My aim is not to record, so fidelity is not an issue, but I wanna have fun at home, playing over some groove
I agree on the T7V, but I find that using the attenuation on the monitor takes care of that, at least in my room.

I think these are phenomenal monitors for the price.

Sure, there are better monitors, but not for $500 a pair brand new.

Is your room treated? Have you tried an EQ just before the output?

Has anybody used the Red Sound wedges or powered monitors that are on the Fractal site. I think Burgs down under uses them but you can only tell so much from Youtube.
I have the Elis.8 stereo bundle. True to FM3 guitar. I do have to tweak for playing tracks though. I run FM3 and iPad through QSC TouchMix 8. Much lighter load than QSC K-10’s!

Yes I have the same problem with my Adams T5V. Everything is a bit hard , shrill and bass strings on guitar through my FM9T are always a bit boomy or woofy. Playing music through them from the internet sounds fine, but I want to be able to play through monitors that create a nice guitar tone. I wondered if there was something I needed to set on the FM9T to play nicely with the monitors? Wondering if a pair of Genelec 8030C would be a better guitary Fractal playing experience.
Before anyone asks about room treatment, I record and play in a shed with no room for any acoustic treatment.

Resurrecting this thread.

Been running thru two Focal Shape 65’s for over a year and LOVE them. Tomorrow I’m getting a Focal Sub One to pair with them and can’t wait to hear what my AX3 sounds like thru them !

Adam D3Vs connected directly to the FM3. They also have a digital input (USB-C) which is connected to my mac so i can listen to audio without turning on the FM3.

iLoud Micros 🤦‍♂️ until I tame the crazy reverberation in the room somehow which makes any kind of mixing impossible anyway.

Then I’m thinking a pair of Barefoot Footprint 02s. And some sub.

Equator D8
Too bad they went out of business.
Been lookin' for an replacement coaxial speaker set in case these fail some day...
Ran D5’s (I think that was the model) for years and LOVED them but I gotta be honest that moving to the Focals was a game changer.
