I have assumed that when connecting via USB that would make FM9 the preferred input/output audio device, so I'd necessarily need to connect the FM directly to a device. Using USB connection would need me to necessarily open a DAW and set FM9 as input while keeping my std pc audio as output. Am I wright? You have to connect your FM9 to something in order to hear it. A single USB cable is about as easy a connection as you can get. You could also connect directly to the monitors, but that’s two connections for stereo. Which is twice as tedious as one connection.![]()
I missed this one I think! Many thanks! Those monitors are great! Cheers mateHey Juca.. good to see you have a FM3 now. I've purchased your Katana patches before and subscribe to your YT channel. I recently got the IK iLoud Precision 5 monitors. These are spectacular. You can apply many different EQ curves to the monitors themselves.. even custom ones. It also comes with their ARC MEMS microphone that plugs into the monitors for room correction with the built in ARC software. I had Mackie and Rokits prior to these and much prefer the IKs. I know Jason Sadites put his Focals up for sale after he got his IK Precisions.

You can choose in your DAW what device you want to use. You might want the FM9 as input device and then your audio interface as output.I have assumed that when connecting via USB that would make FM9 the preferred input/output audio device, so I'd necessarily need to connect the FM directly to a device. I'm pretty noob, so please bear with me
You don’t need a DAW to hear audio. Just tell your computer that your FM9 is your preferred audio playback device.I have assumed that when connecting via USB that would make FM9 the preferred input/output audio device, so I'd necessarily need to connect the FM directly to a device. Yep: tried last night. I saw that you literally just need to check a box in audio mixer settings. You don’t need a DAW to hear audio. Just tell your computer that your FM9 is your preferred audio playback device.
A DAW will give you the ability to control the latency.Yep: tried last night. I saw that you literally just need to check a box in audio mixer settings.
Unfortunately I experienced a very bad input-delay-response while being connected via USB.
Thanks anyway
