What guitar are you playing today?

Nice!

What's the red 12 string?

It’s a Maton Mastersound MS500/12. Most people only see the Maton acoustics, which are very popular in country music circles, but they are high quality Australian guitars. Interestingly, George Harrison played one back in the 60’s.

Oh how I want an electric mandolin. How do you like that one?

It’s really great. I play in a Bruce Springsteen tribute show and needed a mandolin, I intended to get a beginner model with a pickup, but I was talked into this one. It’s just perfect with a band as it doesn’t feedback and has a lot of treble to cut through a dense rock band.

Is the Godin mando an A8 model? My old eyes can't read the headstock even if I magnify the image.

What's up with number 2's neck finish? I have never seen a guitar like this. Looks really cool. How fast does it feel? does the design have an impact on playability other than aesthetics? The bridge looks crazy as well. What's the builder's name if you don't mind?
It's Dean Zelinsky's patented Z-Glide neck. The pattern is supposed to reduce friction (less contact surface) and wick away sweat.

The Z-neck is fast as greased lightning and NEVER sticky at all. It takes a couple of playings to get used to, but it is
a very minor adjustment. I have both a custom Tagliare ATW (below) and the custom LaVoce pictured above.

They are both very interesting guitars!
