Do you know the awesome video? It's got all the elements of "band romanticism" that I tought it was all about when I was a kid. Them, packing up after a hot, sweaty gig in a smokey club, like a gang of brothers - where to now? Where are we gonna lay our heads before we move on? And an impromptu performance on a wet street.


The "Rock Soldiers" video is also fantastic - as are the song and the lyrics. But the only video I can find can only be played on YT, since the uploader somehow set it like that.

Man, I love that whole album. One of only a few I have on vinyl. "Calling to You" is another favourite of mine.

Haha I do know that video - if I had thought about it a little more, I would have posted the video instead of what I posted.

I used to play drums professionally, and I remember a big, half page ad in EC Rocker (a weekly publication which had an active Musicians Wanted section, where you could occasionally find really interesting gigs), Ace was looking for a drummer to replace Anton Fig (the drummer in this video, also played in The Worlds Most Dangerous Band for a long time)...I think that was around 1990? I was very young, not really ready for a gig like that, but called the number anyways, and was told when the auditions would be - it was apparently going to be a big cattle call style audition, but as fate would have it, I got hired for a tour before the audition date, and blew it off.

Great song and great video. Personally I prefer Russ Ballard's version (also the songwriter).

Bruce is right when he says they played too fast... but they swing it. And Eric is brutal.

Edit: I hereby RETRACT my statement about being "too fast". Faster? Yes. Hella faster... but man do they pull it off.

I saw this tour and I marveled at how "glam" Gene's make-up looked, haha. A far cry from, "The Demon."
