Vinai Patches

Are these remade for Quantum fw? Since this is a resurrected thread from 2011 i would assume these presets sound a bit different than they originally did?

I think they are really old presets, doubt they would work very well with Quantum and would probably need a heck of a lot of tweaking.

I have fixed SMAA Clean (Aka Vibra Verb Cho, Comp) like this:
  • COMP: Sustain 4, Level 5
  • CHORUS:
  • DELAY: Level -10
  • REVERB: Mix 18%
  • AMP: Input 3, Bright -3, Master 6, Level -8
It sounds good for me with Dimarzio Evolution at neck.

SMAA Lead (Aka HBE Drive Solo) sounds like a can of bees. I don't think it's worth to fix it.

I've just heard the original Neal Schon for the first time. It is a great song, but the Lead Solo also sounds like a can of buzzy bees to me. To my personal taste, that tone spoils a beautiful song (or perhaps I'm getting too sensitive to crispy highs). The lead tone at Vinai's version is far more pleasant and beautiful to my ears.

I suspect that Vinai did not use that lead patch for the recording. It recreates the original Neal Schon buzzy sound, but not the tone at Vinai's version.
