Unfamiliar MFC101

Greetings Fractalites.

Was aimlessly searching the web and came across this really attractive MFC-101

Based on the date of the article (2009), I'm assuming these photos were prototype pictures for the MFC that we now know and love today.

I have to say though, I really love that blue display and the lack of silver boarder around it. So much so, I was wondering if anyone else had ever swapped out displays on their unit for something a little different?

If so, I'd love to see some details and pictures

I believe those are the Mark 1 production models... been long time since I owned one of those!

I had a MK1 but it had the green display.
I never see a blue one, looks nice.

Green displays are easier to read in varying light conditions. The metal bezel around the display stiffens the case and helps keep stray feet from stepping on the display.
