Cant figure out how he is holding it. At times I can see it rested on his leg, other times no. I dont see any straps or a stand. Seems like it is suspended by wires

I had the same observation. It doesn't move with his body, but I can't see any means of support.

I think at this point we just have to accept he's using the Force
It's the only way to explain how Vai does things
