The only real difference I hear is on the bridge humbucker I'm hearing a little more low end in the model - very little.
This is uncanny! I'm hunting for things to sell so I can grab an FM9.

Yep, sounds pretty close in a studio/recording environment without cabs. In the room through real cabs the differences start to widen.
